Niagara Icedogs 2024-25 Season Thread, Part III

  • Xenforo Cloud will be upgrading us to version 2.3.5 on March 3rd at 12 AM GMT. This version has increased stability and fixes several bugs. We expect downtime for the duration of the update. The admin team will continue to work on existing issues, templates and upgrade all necessary available addons to minimize impact of this new version. Click Here for Updates
That was happening during the Burke years too.
Oh, really? and things were so much better under the Burke's. This franchise has been in a downward spiral since the Burke's hired their two sons as coach and GM. I don't believe too much of this happened when Marty was here...I can remember two examples: Lessio and one other. But we also got Dougie Hamilton as a result of him wanting to play with his brother so pretty even.

Again, how is this different from the departures we saw mid-season during the last decade?
Denying the fact that there are serious problems with “this” team is not going to make these problems disappear. They can only be resolved if we first get new ownership in Niagara.

The problems are escalating; the situation is unstable; what is known to the general public is only the tip of the Iceberg. This off-season, if still under DD, will be unsettling for this fan base.

I am not denying anything Sam. I don't know the facts. I don't work in that building.

All I know, this is not the first mid-season departure and its been happening occasionally since the team came to town and I started paying attention.

DE, I can only assure you that what’s post is the truth (and only what fans are willing to share): problems are escalating; situation is unstable; several players, parents, player agents are unhappy; finances are a concern; the off-season will be unsettling for fans; and what is shared is only the half of it.

However, here is some good new: IceDogs end their 10 game losing streak against Owen Sound tonight Unfortunately, for all of us who truly care about this franchise, those problems will still be there tomorrow.

They don't care anymore. The players are not stupid, they see what's happening with the ownership, the employees and other players...they have given up

I'm not about to blame the players.

I won't say they've given up, I'll instead say that the team owner and management did not give them what they needed to survive. This has been a predictable outcome since the end of November.

If the owner isn't self-aware enough to sell the team on his own, it's time for the OHL to step in and force him out. The players and staff deserve better, and so do the fans.

Owen Sound beats the Icedogs 5 to 1 despite being outshot 43 to 28. Arrowsmith the lone goal Hevan assist his 150 career point. Next game tomorrow night against Erie at home.

The Dogs made a big push early on, they outshot the Attack, the rookie net minder made some big saves .

Carter George played stellar for the Attack .
You could see the dogs getting frustrated, they couldn't solve him .
It's tough to lose not one , but two goalies ..

Lots of talent on your team .

PS , I noticed Carter skated over to your goalie after the game and offered some words and a stick tap.
I bet it meant a lot for him , and his first OHL game .
