That was a good one too. However sticking London with the under-performing Copeland was highly entertaining.

Seems to me, that lately our London trades work out pretty good for the IceDogs.
FYI. We didn’t stick London with Copeland they took him on in the deal to pay for his education package.

That just makes it more with it. I thought sticking Windsor with the Castle gold package when trading Dionicio for Ride, O’Flaherty, 2, 6 was brilliant.
I did not like the Ride to NB trade so much (for Niagara that is).

I maintain we stuck London with Copeland. Who is now playing in a league that may go defunct soon.
No. Copeland was the reason Niagara overpaid on the trade. Not sure why you feel the need to change the narrative on trade. Those are the facts not an opinion. DD trades draft picks to save himself money.

"change the narrative"?

"Those are the facts not an opinion. "

I think you mean change your negative narrative and counter to your opinion.

It was a really good trade for the IceDogs.
Trading away high draft picks in exchange for London taking on the cost of Copeland’s education package is a good deal?

All the fans in Niagara knew Copeland was under performing and just coasted around on the ice. If we didn't get to trade him we probably would have released him eventually. Just like London did.
Underperforming? If he was performing in any capacity, I suspect it was Ice Capades. Definitely not hockey. The poor guy looked lost most shifts.

Because they got Paris, Humphrey, and unloaded the education package for 2, 3 picks; yeah, very good exchange
While I wasn't sad to see Copeland go, the standard of "costs money = bad" can't be the driving force for your franchise. Let's not forget a whole pile of picks disappeared from Niagara then as well. Picks are currency, you use them to buy new players and enhance your team. When your team plays better, ticket sales go up, which means all the ancillary revenue goes up too. DDD thinks investing in the team is bad, so he avoids it. He gets rid of picks as if they are a non-commodity and the team cannot be enhanced. And before you point to this year's stats, think about next year.

Why would you care on saving education money as a fan?
It has no benefit to the team skill level and is just another indication of a cheapskate owner.

This guy decided to buy a JR hockey team knowing education costs were a massive factor.

Next season and the season after appear more promising than this season. So yeah, the concept of picks as a commodity seems understood.

I do not care or said I care about anyone saving education $; being rid of education $ money in trade is certainly not a negative though.

I think the education cost is meaningless to the fans of the team and definitely a negative overall.
He unloads education costs associated to the team by giving away picks and unloading talent in return.
It's a huge negative to the ice dogs team and Ice Dog fans have a right to be frustrated by it.

How long can DDD hang in as owner? I have a good friend that owns a pretty big general insurance firm and he doesn't think DDD has the funds to keep this thing going. All these trades to save costs are just postponing the inevitable sale. #SELLTHETEAM
I'm personally hoping Bruce Boudreau puts together a group to buy this thing.
I think that would be an ideal situation knowing his involvement as an advisor.
