Politics is going to ruin sports. That’s my opinion on all of this.

the fact that thinking it is wrong that any person for any reason is murdered is wrong and ideally wouldn't happen is viewed as 'political' is going to ruin the world...that's my opinion on all of this.

this should not be a political topic. it is. but it shouldn't be.

You mean the part where a felon didn't listen to cops' orders, retreated back inside his car, and attempted to reach for something in a high tension situation and got shot?

Yeah, I did like that part of his post, because it's true. Should he have been shot 7 times? Probably not, but it's another situation where if he had complied, he wouldn't have been shot.
Breonna Taylor was sleeping.

Liking any part of that post is abhorrent and you should be utterly ashamed of your self.

you are the poison in this society.

Breonna Taylor and Jacob Blake are two completely different situations. What happened to Breonna Taylor was beyond reprehensible. You won't hear me argue about that.
Ok, and Elijah McClain was walking home. Rayshard Brooks was also sleeping. This happens a lot.

The pro-cop/anti-cop thing is a stipid f***ing narrative that divides us and deflects from the issue.

This is about people *murdering* other people time and time again. Wearing a badge absolutely does not give you the right to do that. If we can't even admit this is a problem, then we need these demonstrations.

Stop being mad about not watching hockey for a night and think about it.

You get taught (not for some apparently) growing up that fighting with the cops will get you nowhere. Even if you are 110% innocent, you live to fight another day or you'll have your day in court to defend yourself.

You liked a post from someone mentioning a 'stupid black' and how white people are the real victims whose avatar was Blackface.....not sure what you're defending.

1) I don't care about hockey right now. I haven't even watched a game since the Rangers were eliminated

2) Rashard Brooks, you mean the guy that stole a cops taser and aimed it at them? He wasn't sleeping and killed like Breonna Taylor was. Another situation where he did a completely stupid thing and got killed.

Am I saying no police reform is needed? Nope. Do I also think some people need to be taught not to fight with the cops or ignore their orders? Yup

It isn't one or the other.

I can't believe some people are this upset about a night without hockey.

Go read a book. Talk to your wife/girlfriend. Try a new recipe. Spend your evening in other ways that don't include sitting down on a couch with a beer yelling at your tv. There's more to life than sports. That's the message here.

"Just follow orders" doesn't really jive with the whole free country thing.

That's because both sides are the same side.

Cops aren't the judge, jury, and executioner

This isn't about "justice" or even really about police reform. Nobody gives a f*** when someone who isn't black is killed by cops. It happens every day. Nobody cares.

That's not what they're upset about. It's just something they can use as cover for what they're actually outraged about.

I'm sure Blake was reaching into his car to get a weapon that we would use in an outnumbered fight vs the police (with their weapons already drawn), all in front of his kids who were in the car.

Yes. Definitely.

Cops had plenty of time and numbers to subdue him before he walked around the vehicle to open the driver-side door. No need to have shot him multiple times.

But they know how to de-escalate confrontations and subdue white people, yes? Yes.

Zero explanation you an provide to justify the shooting of Blake.

When you justify people getting shot because they resisted arrest, that's kind of what you're saying.

If you resist arrest and try stealing a cops taser like Rayshard Brooks did, or resist arrest and go into your car and reach for something like Jacob Blake did, etc. What exactly do you expect might happen? That's not putting a cop at ease and making an already tense situation even higher.

Does it justify them being shot? Probably not, but you're giving a cop a reason to maybe do so.

It's why while there needs to be some police reform at a minimum, some people need to also be taught to not fight with the cops. This goes for if you're black, white, asian, purple, alien, etc.
