This is a article that compiles the ' best assests' in the NHL by catagory

designed to identify the 50 best pure assets in the league. Operating in reverse order, this article employs a playground style logic of "Would you trade player X for player Y?"

There are Rising Star (TT and Slava)

Then there is an honorable mention list of sorts with about 30 players ( Quick )

OF the 50 'pure best assets" are All Star ( Gaborik , #42) ELite (No Kings) Franchise (Doughty #16) and Untouchable (Kopi #6) FUture Hall of Famers (O Kings)

I didn't agree with some of the slotting just to point out a couple (like Giroux being in the Untouchable Category and DOughty wasn't) And how Taylor Hall is ranked #8 and Carter didn't even make honorable mention. There was an article last winter during the Olympic selection debates that statistically had JC 3rd in scoring % (.46) behind Stamkos and OVie since 2007 or it might have been 2006, but their point was he should be on the team for that reason. It's just odd that he still doesn't get the respect nationally the you think he would, he's going into his10th year, it's not like he's new in theNHL

But I'm sure if you were sitting with a group of your NHL pals and asked everyone to list their top 50 pure NHL assests, there would be arguments too.

There's no chance in hell I'd trade Quick for Gaborik. Or really half that list, but I figure King for King makes my point without bias.

Quick being on the neither here nor there list and behind a lot of those guys is silly. Doughty being behind both Karlsson and PK is pretty lame too.

To be fair, he doesn't get much respect locally either...the dude has dominated games countless times yet he never seems to get a game star.

As a king's fan in canada I had a lot of people texting me sayign how "my boy" Carter better not dissapoint once it was announced he made team Canada.
I am glad Carter shut them up. Not sure why carter is not see nas one of the best in the league. The guy has one at every level (if I knew how ot upload that twitter pic of all his rings I would) while being a key contributer one each team.
Anyway I purchased a jeff Carter Team Canada Jersey and am very prud to wear it constantly.
