As anything when it comes to fights that get legal involved just have to wait till the facts come out until then don't have an opinion. Just personal experience never trust the 'reasons' for a fight when it comes first out. Cause it will be exaggerated and or completely misrepresented.

Seen the what ends up the real shit right off the bat that takes forever to get proven and the opposite.

Hey! I used the word "usually."

And yes, women get harassed and that tends to be the exception.

But why be skeptical in this instance:

1) Eye witnesses (even though ppl's memories are shit, the restaurant manager and other customers saw what happened, hence he didn't get arrested)
2) Probably camera footage which I'm surprised hasn't been leaked
3) His account seems somewhat coherent and detailed (if he was really drunk, I doubt he remembers much...especially after getting kicked in the head several times)

But you are somewhat correct, I spent lots of time downtown in divey places and have good friends in the DC food & bev industry. There are lots of entitled drunken idiots who think they are impervious to repercussions...until they aren't.

I'm giving Biz the benefit of some doubt here mostly b/c there were 6 mugshots posted
plus he knows with his social media presence and TV job that he'll catch a lot of flak if he throws out a BS story that can be refuted fairly quickly

I do doubt the words that were exchanged that led up to the altercation and how civilized that exchange was before it got physical

We are all justifiably skeptical these days, but people sometimes do act for the right reasons.

Biz seemed sincere in his appreciation for the management, and as someone who worked service/hospitality for a long time with just this sort of patron, a pushy mob of angry half-drunks or wannabe-drunks trying to strong arm someone at the door seems entirely plausible. As does a dedicated patron coming to the rescue.

But weirder things have happened in the world. Bill Cosby was everyone's proxy TV father until he turned out to be roofie Satan. It's still possible Biz did step in for the right reasons, but let his swagger and mouth turn things ugly, possibly with the same "I dare you" attitude some martial arts intermediates show in public when they can't wait to test out their skills.

Even by Bissonette's own account, he's the one who initiated physical contact and suggested they step outside and fight. That is an escalation.

Kinda…

“I walk over, I grab the guy’s arm and I say, ‘Listen, buddy, if you keep harassing and assaulting the staff here, we’re going to go outside and we’re going to have some problems,’” Bissonnette said on the podcast. “The minute that left my mouth, the guy besides him starts throwing punches. And next thing you know there’s four guys swinging at me.”

Bissonnette and the Manager are officially listed as victims in the arrest charges.

I have no problem with this if it's true. What's the alternative? Do nothing? Say to a bunch of belligerent assholes "perhaps your tone could be taken down a wee bit, sir"? I'm sure the manager was already trying to defuse the situation so a bit of calm de-escalation was likely off the table by then.

But we'll see. Maybe.

The alternative is pretty obvious:

"The police are on their way. I just called them."

^^^That tends to reduce the likelihood of assaults taking place moreso than grabbing people and challenging them.

Did you watch W. Kamau Bell’s documentary about Cosby? So. Good. And. So. Disturbing.

Tom Wilson

There's an argument to be made that Tom Wilson is the scariest player in the NHL.

The ferocity he plays the game with for a player his size is beyond intimidating. At 6'4" 220 pounds, he's a Mack Truck on skates with the only difference being that the vehicles don't throw punches or deliver enough questionable hits to set the internet on fire.

Wilson's reputation for toeing and crossing the line between legal and illegal when it comes to hits is well-known, but don't get Capitals fans started about it unless you're ready for an earful in return.
That physical play also allows him to be a vital producer offensively as well for Washington. His presence around the net and in the offensive zone creates space for himself and his teammates.

He's a three-time 20-goal scorer in his career and routinely has put up 40-or-more points in a season. Label him a "goon" all you want, but there's no question opposing teams treat matchups with the Capitals differently when he's in the lineup.

Any group of Men who fights someone 6 on 1 are scum and losers. Im glad Biz beat them down

This…my buddies and I always followed the code that if you bit off something, it’s on you to deal with it. But, if you’re getting your ass kicked badly we step in to stop the fight, or his buddies jump in, it’s on and we’re in it with you.

The alternative is pretty obvious:

"The police are on their way. I just called them."

You’re assuming conversations didn’t happened. You must really have an irrational dislike of Biss.

had to put on ole channel 66 to witness the NYR ugliness, love it

I think it was ACE on tnt or one of the panel saying last Caps game that Shesterkin was botox, covering up all the wrinkles of NYR

Something seems pretty broken with their core

Again, you’re assuming no de-escalation was attempted before the fight….

Learning the full truth before passing judgment is as rational as it gets.

Bissonette’s own account includes no such detail, nor any time for him to have done those things.

Do you suppose he’s leaving out the parts that would make him look decent?

Come on MJ. This is not some utopian situation where someone calls the cops and they show up in less than a minute. All this happened within 5mins. Base on the behavior below, Biz did the right thing.

Just look at these dipshits. Already beating up on staff at the golf course hours before their encounter with Biz.

Worked out for me in general though one of those 'hey one on one' beef fights should have stepped in a bit earlier before my friend got a concussion. Everytime I got to my dads I see the same 711 and Beulah Rd parking lot every time I go to my Dads.

Do you really think he’s giving full details when the legal process needs to do its thing?

Most people would not talk about it as much as he has, especially if there was a greater than zero chance he would at all liable or culpable.

Not really. It was already escalated. Biz just didn’t want it happening on the floor. Which I can fully appreciate.

And PS — I have always disliked Biz. Even now, I’m not a fan.

But let’s not paint him as the bad guy. Bad guys don’t do 1 on 7 or whatever.

Give the man his props.

Come on dude. No it doesn’t. Police take forever (especially in a place like Scottsdale), and all that would do is tell the idiots that the have like 10min to do whatever they want to do, and scram outta there.

I’m not a violent man, like at all, but justice seemed served
