NHL Rule Changes For 2014-15: Taking The Bad With The Good

Looks like we won't see anymore goals like the infamous one in Detroit last January...

I think they took out the spin-o-rama because the player basically stops forward motion (see video below), and its my understanding that the player has to continue forward motion (or at least some motion) in both the penalty shot and shoot-outs.

So it sounds more like a resolution of two conflicting issues.

 
Also, the diving for the puck on a break away being called for tripping won't be a penalty shot if they touch the puck first before the trip.

So there's at least that.

Basically at least one ref should be looking at the puck making sure it's only going forward, if it stops or goes backward the shot should be called dead, no?
