NHL Playoff Schedule Information

Gotta figure out the matchups first, since most of the stadiums are multiuse and some have NBA teams playing playoff games too.

Panthers Bruins is all but confirmed for a Monday start with the Celtics playing Tuesday in Boston. Assume every other day from there.

Keefe said Tampa Toronto is likely a Tuesday start

For those interested in the tv slots in the U.S. see the link below. The empty nights belong to TNT/TBS who haven’t posted their daily schedules yet all the way through.

Of note the first round stretches out an extra day with Game 7’s on Monday May 1. That and them having to schedule around the NFL draft means we will likely see some two day breaks in series.

The most important thing is that there will be afternoon games on weekends. Not every game needs to start 7PM Eastern, or later for the Western conference.

A 2PM start on Saturdays and Sundays. Followed by a 4:30PM start. Then 7PM. For the first round.

For rounds 2-3, a 3PM start on Saturday and Sunday if there are games scheduled.

For the Cup Final, they can start at 8:20 if that really needs to be a thing.

Not sure if anything is confirmed yet but Xfinity has channels set for some of the game 1s in their TV guide.

Based off last year's schedule, start times were scattered during Week Nights at 7pm, 7:30pm, 9:30pm and 10pm. I am assuming they will do the same this year because it basically allowed the ability to bounce back and forth between games during the intermissions without missing too much time.

I am surprised these 2 series are not decided more by who Seattle plays then who the Avalanche play given that it will be much easier programming the Seattle series since it's a late PST game.

Colorado is the home team. Nuggets play Monday.

Fair enough, I didn't take that into consideration. I guess also they can change up the schedule for games 2-7(ie it won't be a game every 2 nights). Those PST starts though do make it easier when trying to come out with a schedule(especially compared to Central Time Zone teams like Dallas, Winnipeg and Minnesota)

Looking at the espn schedule on the espn app on Monday ESPN will have games at 7:30 and 10, and espn 2 will have 7pm and 9:30.

Same on Tuesday, except ESPN2 just has a lone game at 9:30. TBS will have a game on that night at 7pm.

First round schedules are out.
