  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.
    • Our 2025 light and dark themes were lost, so we are rebuilding them. Light theme is currently available, but work in progress

I don't agree with this, they know what they are watching. They are paid to watch the game. And the majority take there vote seriously. But the handful of them that only vote with team colored glasses on ruins it.

It's the best solution to this though. Players are a worse option. There are no good ones because people who watch the game do so with different expectations.

I may be in the wrong thread but... can we get a sticky or something at the beginning to the thread with the important off season dates? UFA, draft, buy out period etc...

August 25: Second Round starts
September 8: Conference Finals start
September 22: 2020 Stanley Cup Final begins
October 4: Latest date for Stanley Cup Final Game 7
October 9-10: 2020 NHL Draft
December 1: Tentative start date for 2020-21 regular season

The draft got moved up a few days to October 6-7, and free agency starts October 9th.

NHL announces protocols for offseason training

Off season training will be similar to phase 2 RTP.


WRT critical dates....

9/25 - beginning of buyout period (Sens have put Ryan on waivers for buyout).

Have not heard when RFA QOs are due. My guess is 10/8 (day after draft, day before free agency starts).

Have not heard when arbitration (team, player options) selection is, nor anything about hearing dates.

Friedman reporting the NHL is now pushing next season's proposed start date to January 1, 2021.

So next season will really be the "2021" season.
