For those of you who subscribe to this service...

Do they give you playoff games?

Are you relying on, online feeds?

I'm thinking of dropping cable next year and going NHL gameday.
Any advice would be appreciated.

thanks!

You're based in Philly, right?

The only thing that I think would be an issue is national games, on NBCSN or NBC. I think you can stream those games on the NBC website, though.

I'd say yes, on the whole. Myself, I don't watch much TV. I watch NHL hockey and NHLN. That's it. If I want to watch a show/movie, I use Netflix. NHL Gamecenter is a pretty good deal. One year for $160? That's about how much you'd pay for two months of cable.

Every game is broadcasted nationally in the US and Canada, so without circumvention of the blackouts, you won't get anything for the postseason.

i work in philthy, i live in PA (911 displaced NY'er)

Like you, I watch mostly hockey, that and the Walking Dead. Everything else i rely on my amazon prime, etc.

I'm most likely going to do the gamecenter through my PS3, however I'm concerned how i'll see local games against the flyers (subject to blackout) as well as playoff games.

Currently i have verizon, but i'm going to try streaming the game through NBC's site like you suggested.

Thanks for your help!!!!

sry, i'm misunderstanding what you wrote here...

the first round of the playoffs used to be handled through NHL Center Ice/Gameday, however now it seems from round 1 on, they are national.

So if i drop my cable provider, I'll have to rely soley on streams come playoff time?

Yep. Center Ice and Gamecenter Live do not work in the playoffs anymore, unless you use a proxy or VPN to get around the blackouts.

All playoff games are televised nationally on the NBC family of networks.

thx Bro. i'll stick with verizon fios. no sense becoming a basket case worrying about how i'll get playoff games at the end of the season...

i've broken many things in the house on those occasions... :)
