I'm a big Black Book fan and they have announced their top 32 picks. Massive surprises. Connor Geekie at #2!

Was this list posted today. Yeah they’ve always been high in him. I like him though I’m very concerned about his skating. I’ve watched a few games of his this year. Liked most of his game except his skating. I guess a power skating coach could put in his input if it could be correctable. I thought the same thing about Lowry when he’s was drafted. He’s come a long way.

I watched an interview on a Montreal channel the other day and the guest scout (name escapes me) claimed Geekie should go 1st overall. Highest upside in the draft.

Waiting for it to come out so that I can order off of Amazon. A bit surprised Geekie is so high. I get that they might believe he could be a Getzlaf type but a lot needs to go right for that to happen.

That size and skill combo has a lot of scouts drooling.

Of course it does but the results don't really line up with a top 3 ranking.

10 to 14 seems appropriate to me

I think there's an argument for top 5 but there is a lot of risk there. His skating really needs to improve for him to be a high end player at the NHL level. But I also think just based on his size and skill he has a really good chance of being an everyday bottom 6 player. I think a lot of scouts see very high upside but also not much risk in him becoming at least something at the NHL level.
