The goalie pick is awful. Kid is big that’s it

terrible laterally terrible no speed and frankly not very technical or flexible. He’s actually too big. Be surprised if he even plays ahl hockey

I shudder at the thought of overpaying Danualt. Would rather shop in the Wenneberg, Granlund, Bonino, Haula, Nosek aisle for cheaper and shorter term. In some cases, they could compete with Fil for 2C. Trade Strome for McNabb/Reaves or Soucy/MacDermid and call it a day.

Grit aside I do get the feeling that Drury is trying to make our forward corps better defensively. Maybe the logic is that between Panarin, Zib, Kreider, Kakko, Laf, Krav, there's enough potential high end offense that we should fill out the rest of the lineup with shut-down guys, and Danault certainly fits that.

It would almost certainly mean the end of Strome here.

Are we never supposed to draft goalies for 3-4 years down the road? Do you see what awful goaltending did in the playoffs? Did you see who won the Con Smythe? Shesty wants like 6 mil. Are we happy paying him that type of money after 47 NHL games?

He heard we were head-over-heels for a 6'7 goalie in the WHL and so he traded up in order to leapfrog us and take Cossa.

His offensive game hasn't developed as some thought. He still has the super aggressive game, but he didn't put up the points some expected.

In a draft of mainly support guys, it’s really surprising to see these US kids fall. They’re all so well schooled and will fill out really important depth roles if they don’t hit their ceilings

Everyone was a massive reach, guys who aren’t on any ranking lists, guys who don’t even have pics on EliteProspects; except for one faller they grabbed in Korczak. All players low ceilings, low skill, gritty.

Someone ranked 16th, going 16th, isn't a reach.

I honestly would have loved Cossa with our 1st. I know it would be a love hate pick but having elite goaltending at ELC in the middle of our window is a MASSIVE value

Concerns about the offensive upside, speed at which he processes the game and whether he can add the strength and assertion to translate his game.

Rangers redeeming themselves a bit with this last few picks in my eyes. Lamb was a guy I was fascinated by later and really have no issue rolling the dice a bit early like we did.

Does hurt a bit to see Roulette go where he did though.

Idk I feel like PPG in u20 when you're nowhere near 20 is solid.

We're gonna play him and Hugo as a tandem.

Rangers didn't draft Chaz Lucius or Red Savage, so it's an automatic loss. Can't come out of the draft with a win if you can't get players with names like that.

Idk I feel like PPG in u20 when you're nowhere near 20 is solid.

Just turned 18 in January.

It's solid but nothing spectacular. He's also not the best skater.

It's a very good pick, though. I love him at that spot. Same with the Lamb pick.

Size/strength concerns and debate as to whether he can score at the higher levels.

He's a hard worker, but there are doubts about he has the talent to overcome the deficiencies.
