Okay so because YOU don’t value goalie prospects. Got it.

Not even unpacking how stupid that is, but a 1st is significantly better than a 2nd. Just on that it’s a significant better deal. The Sabres probably picked out Levi just like the Rangers probably picked out Blais.

Ah so we've resorted to calling people stupid. Have fun being angry.

Almost every draft is crapshoot, especially this year

players are picked and passed on all the time that become nothing or become something out of nothing

completely legitimate is a stretchhhhh

Look, a pizza is gonna run you $20. Sometimes you're lucky and you find a deal for a little less. But you also kind of know that it doesn't feel right when you're paying $30 for that same pizza either.

If last year represented what felt like a strategic use of assets and the management of those assets, this year feels a little more...free-spirited.

Who’s angry? It’s stupid to dismiss an entire position, not even considering the player based on nothing other than your personal opinion. A second is not close to a first just because you don’t like goalies.

How many players from 4-5 seasons ago are still on the roster today?

It's absurd to draft based on the need of your team today unless you're drafting in the top 10 and that player is on the cusp of making the NHL out the gate.

When these players are ready, we may very well have a great bottom-6 and an awful top 6.

Im not talking about drafting solely. I'm talking about the overall mandate of the organization to be more versatile and tougher to play against and be able to win in the playoffs. Thats what they are trying to accomplish with guys like Goodrow and Blais, plus guys like Schneider and others in minors.

I appreciate your more mild usage of adjectives for this draft.

All year we hear let’s not trade now. Let’s save it for the draft when we can get more teams involved. Or have a better idea about the roster as a whole. Then the draft comes…

I like the Othmann and Korczak picks, even if they weren’t my preferred choices at those spots. I think the key with them is their very translatable skill sets and potential to be guys they take larger steps relative to their draft peers in 2-3 years.

I’m not a fan of the Grubbe pick, but I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt and see how he is post-surgery.

That sums up my feelings so far.
