GDT: NHL Draft Day 2

I’m remarkably unimpressed by the moves they’ve made now and for the future. I could be wrong, but I don’t think they’re a better team at all.

Drury has a mandate to make the playoffs this year and we can't sit on our asses forever trying to rebuild. I'd also like an upgrade from Strome, but trading him away and praying to god that one becomes available at a reasonable price would be stupid as f***.
 
This is awful not having a pick until 80 watching Raty and Chibrokov continue to slide

My old GM from Toyota, Joe Catanese, played baseball with him in Trumbull. He was the catcher. I asked him about Drury and he went off. Hated him. Snobby spoiled kid that ignored his signs and threw what he wanted, where he wanted. He didn’t like Chris as a teammate or as a person.

I was surprised to hear this because Drury has always had a good reputation in the NHL.

I think the top athletes appreciate Chris. But that story about him outside the rink is not isolated either.

so myers, Hagg, Patrick, Voracek are better than Ellis, Risto, Atkinson? For one year I would take the latter easily

Raanta, Reimer, Mrazek, Bernier, Halak are all free agents. On a lower tier there is Hutton, Brossoit, Elliott etc. Plenty of competent guys.

I wouldn't mind Halak or Mrazek. Short term of course. That lower tier makes me wanna run for the hills.

Was worth it.

Not only did we not have to watch him flounder around and get minutes he didn't deserve, it also opened up an avenue for K'Andre to get minutes this year. That will benefit us in the long run.
