Why does everyone want to trade Strome for a 2nd. That's ridiculous and I don't even like him.
It's not happening. Between his chemistry with Panarin and obvious desire for Rangers to compete 100 percent next year no way they are trading him for a guy that makes the lineup in 3-4 years.

I always find it weird for a player to fall because he's commited to a KHL team.

Chibrikov has 2 years to marinate, if not more, in the KHL... I really dont get the issue. He has all the talent you would want from a player...

Chibrkov has legit 30 goal, 70 point potential. I don't care if he's 4 years out --- I'll take that on an ELC any time.

You knew Carolina was gonna grab a big name with one of their seconds. They do it every time

I don't think AG is that good but we need to make sure we have a decent backup going into next year.
Love Shesty but can he play 65 games plus?

Raanta, Reimer, Mrazek, Bernier, Halak are all free agents. On a lower tier there is Hutton, Brossoit, Elliott etc. Plenty of competent guys.

I mean they just saw what Kucherov does... They've seen what Kaprizov did... I just find it weird. I'd love him as a pick

Don't worry, I'm not sure Drury is up yet.

He worked into the mid-morning hours making pizza and coming up with a strategy to win a local pickup game of basketball against some local middle school students.

Funny story about Drury.

My old GM from Toyota, Joe Catanese, played baseball with him in Trumbull. He was the catcher. I asked him about Drury and he went off. Hated him. Snobby spoiled kid that ignored his signs and threw what he wanted, where he wanted. He didn’t like Chris as a teammate or as a person.

I was surprised to hear this because Drury has always had a good reputation in the NHL.

I like him, though I always felt he was overrated and the praise overstated.

Working for the league it was like there was a concerted effort to try to turn him into the Derek Jeter/Captain America of the NHL.

Mr. Intangibles if you will.

And to some extent I felt like I saw that as an executive as well. So it's not that he's bad, it's that everything feels overly praised.

@Edge Do you have any info on the Drury buy-out decision in 2011? I still don't understand it, as it was his final year and he had a legitimate degenerative knee condition. Instead of using LTIR, the Rangers buy Drury out, and then he retires in August of that same off-season.
