This definitely won't go over well with some people on here lol, but what an amazing year again for Mack. Whether he actually gets it or not , just to come back and contend year after year. The league has so many great players , he is right among the cream of the crop.

Honestly he wouldn't be my vote, but nobody really took the award and ran with it this year. Maybe the ol boy duekinnon nabs another to go with his 4 nations mvp.

Results were as follows

1. MACK
2. KUCH
3. HELLE
4. DRAI

Should be helle...

Would be crazy to win b2b harts without an art Ross or rocket or selke etc.
2nd in pts both years, but yes I agree. Wouldn't be my choice this year.

Mack is so much more than pts , one of the best transition players in the history of the sport who will also get top 2 pt finishes. Adds a physical element the other elite pt producers don't

But If anyone were to do it, it would be mack

This votings are so biased, they are not worth a lot tbh if you look at them from an objective standpoint.

All 4 had a hell of a season, was fun to follow! 🤟
Unfortunately Drai's injury came at the worst possible time of the season.

Such is life. Those who don't agree with the voting results will say it holds little merit.

But one thing across all sport and life, we vote on things. It's never perfect.

To be honest, there isn't really an obvious winner this year.

MacKinnon started off on fire but slowed down somewhat. He wasn't as good as he was last year and it seems many think Makar was more valuable to the Avalanche than MacKinnon this season.

Last season, people used Kucherov's empty net points against him and people thought MacKinnon drove play better. This season, MacKinnon has a lot of EN points and more than Kucherov. I don't see the argument for him over NK86 this year. But Kucherov's season hasn't really "felt" like a Hart season, either (maybe it kind of flew under the radar until he got hot late in the season and was suddenly first in scoring).

I don't think you can give it to Draisaitl with all those missed games. For the most part, he was better than McDavid this season, but McDavid did end up matching him in points per game and had almost as many points.

I might go with Hellebuyck this year.

Since OP didn't even provide the link:

Nathan MacKinnon didn't play the last three games of the regular season because of a minor injury. Had he, maybe the Colorado Avalanche center would have won the Art Ross Trophy as the NHL's scoring leader for the first time in his career.

Instead, it again went to Tampa Bay Lightning forward Nikita Kucherov, who finished with 121 points to MacKinnon's 116 after topping MacKinnon 144-140 to win it last season.

"He would have won the scoring championship if it was a goal of his" former NHL coach Bruce Boudreau said.
LMAOOOOO this is embarassing.

The indirect Kuch disrespect never, ever stops.

I think the vote is funny this year because reading between the lines they had decided a while back that Draisaitl was going to get it, but then he missed a decent chunk of time and McDavid put up some points really quickly and his case looks worse. Kucherov led the NHL in scoring again, but the lead isn't very big and he doesn't really bring anything outside of that offence. Good team support too. Kucherov might get it, but I don't think that the voters generally like him, sort of like Pronger back in the day. MacKinnon would have gotten it had he led the league in scoring, but he didn't and Makar certainly has a case to be the more valuable player on the team. Hellebucyk had a great year, but in terms of value goalies rarely (never really) get it when they are playing on a very talented team, and Winnipeg is great.

Last year it was obvious that MacKinnon was getting it, this year the narrative is harder to see. Gun to my head I'd say that Kucherov will get the Hart narrowly. I'm not sure who I would vote for if I had a vote, last year I would have gone Kucherov.
