Each club will be represented by a First Team and Second Team of six players -- three forwards, two defensemen and one goalie -- who played for the franchise from Jan. 1, 2000 - Dec. 31, 2024. The first and second teams were selected by broadcasters, national, local and NHL.com writers who have covered the respective
Vinny was so dominant those couple years. Shit. Makes me sad thinking about how good him and MSL were together.
To me McDonagh's peak in the 2021 Cup run is that much higher than any of Sergachev's achievements that it trumps the longevity Serg has over him. He carried that team defensively and probably should've finished 3rd in the Conn Smythe voting.Sergachev played more games and has more points than McDonagh and they both won 2 Cups. McDonagh is the better player but this is who did more and Sergachev did in a Bolts sweater. Also Kubina would be a good partner for him so if going for best fit it works too.
They're just listed as forwards. The one thing that pisses me off right away is Lecavalier on the wing and Point at center. Point can't even hold Vinny's jock.
The two changes for me are Khabibulin over Bishop and Sergachev over McDonagh. Bishop has the better regular season numbers but they're about the same playoff wise and Khabibulin won the Cup and Bishop didn't.

Honestly, if we had one single game to win, not a whole season or anything, and I had to choose a goalie to play that game, I'm not sure if I would go with Vasy or Bishop.I'm not angry. Might put Khabi over Bishop just because he actually won a cup, though Bishop lasted a bit longer.
Bishop never had the privilege of playing in front of the same defense Vasi did. In his last full season with us we were still in the Carle-Sustr era. The big argument against Bishop is that he got hurt every time the games actually started to matter.Honestly, if we had one single game to win, not a whole season or anything, and I had to choose a goalie to play that game, I'm not sure if I would go with Vasy or Bishop.
Yup. In any given game, Bishop was a monster. And his puck handling ability is likely what got that defense by.Bishop never had the privilege of playing in front of the same defense Vasi did.
