Didn't Trotz go after Wedgewood and tell Askarov camp he would have to compete for #2 spot, Or am I wrong in memory here?

Pretty sure Wedgewood situation was final break in relationship that was fast going downhill after Saros contract

Either way Trotz continues to be disaster for Preds

With the way the Askarov situation played out. Him being alienated and traded because there wasn't a spot. Now the goalie that was holding him back, after recently being signed is traded as well.

On top of that...Askarov looks like the real deal.

Trotz needs to fire himself at this point. He doesn't know what he's doing anymore.

They just need to rebuild. They've had 2 years getting hot late in the year making them change their rebuild plans.

Know i need to avoid main boards but there were some in heavy denial CBJ fans acting like its totally normal and not an issue that Jiricek wanted out when he played 6 games and sat 12 games.

He clearly only agreed to go to the ahl if they agreed to do trade talks, rumors began immediately after his 1st game.

100% his attitude was an issue. He's not NHL good enough and he refused to play AHL at one point. He's back there now but like.. how do you deal with that?

Sucks he is in division though.

That Jones trade is looking better and better every day. Columbus has almost nothing to show for it.

Jackets have been a mess since 2000.
Cole Sillinger -Still there
Adam Boqvist -Gone
2021 2nd Rounder/Jake Bean -Gone
David Jiricek -Gone/traded

Seth Jones and Nolan Allan for SIllinger and a bunch of picks basically valued a round later as the Wild will be in their competetive window the next 5 years

Yup

Would have had a worse record without Jones and had they not traded for Fleury that off season. Could have drafted Cooley or Cutter. Could have drafted Cossa, or Wallstedt instead of Sillinger. Not to mention, Jackets still have that 1st round pick, a 2nd round, a third round pick, and a 4th round pick. And we have Jones who can't be given away, and Allan who could maybe be more than a depth Dman.

Speaking of Cutter

LOL at Briere and Flyers blowing that situation and ultimately trading him away for damaged goods and 2nd

Today's trade really shows how awful the Cutter trade was

Also Flyers should have probably been involved here they more than had assets to make move (3 1sts's) and Jiricek is exactly the D prospect they need

Look at the names on that list. Jones is pretty good at hockey. He's not top 5 in TOI in the best league in the world for no reason.

Lol you're right, there is a reason. They have to justify paying him 9.5mil a year, and don't have anyone to play instead of him outside of Vlasic. I'd take Sillinger and all the picks over Jones and Allan.

That's just silly and you know it.

So Richardson is trying to make Bowman look good? Is that what you're saying?

I know you're just clowning around but still.

Remember all the coping over the trade when Jiricek had an epic NHLe? Now people wouldn’t even be willing to give a late first and a mix of other picks for him. LOL. This is a win for the Wild.
