Sorry if non related , but is that why some people start drinking everyday? I heard about this once too
That's less common for office drones like Holland is. I guess he just likes showing up at the office for boring board meetings and bullsh**

Quitting is harder for pro athletes because the job involves adrenaline

David Graeber wrote an interesting book, "Bullshit Jobs," about loosely defined and meaningless jobs. Welcome to the club, Ken.

When Kenny left the Oilers:

- Downgraded their GM
- Downgraded defense
- Lost 2 key young players (Broberg & Holloway)
- Lost speed throughout the lineup
- Became the oldest team in the NHL

Pretty crazy.
The Oilers making a worse choice to replace him doesn’t necessarily mean he deserves all of the credit in the world. It has been clear for years that the Oilers love to make questionable GM hires.
Plus, it is quite early in the season… how short is your memory with the Oilers? Have you forgotten the disaster that was last season’s first month or two? The team was something like 2-10 to start the year. They decided to kick into gear in January and then just didn’t lose for three months essentially.

They won't fire the coach this year and get the "new coach surge" as they did last year...

Having read that book, KH's new gig doesn't really fit into any of the main categories he detailed... but for organizations with enough money there could definitely be an additional entry for "cronies", and he'd fit nicely there.

Work is all he knows. If he retired and just did f*** all, I think he wouldn't even know how to deal with that. Some people are like that.
Some people, yeah. But the overwhelming majority of those people don't work in factories, on oil rigs or drive trucks for a living.
