Really dont like this high rating culture that NHL has. Ratings in NHL are pretty much useless. Fifa does it so much better. If Ramsey played for the flyers instead of Arsenal he would be a 89 rated....

It is pretty odd that 80 seems to be the floor for semi-decent players. Basically, if you're below 80, you suck.

I think its because in the NHL games you have leagues that are way worse than the NHL. If you start giving NHL players ratings in the 60s/70s you would have to start giving CHL players ratings in the 20's which just seems insulting.

NHL- 65+
AHL, SEL- 50-70
FEL, NLA - 35-55
CHL - 20-40

Ya but a 75 overall enforcer that plays probably 20 games a season doesn't really help in that regard. That is actually more insulting when half the CHL players are 5 times the player said enforcer is. Atleast they're not scoring pp goals anymore, so that's a plus.

They should try bumping down the ratings. In FIFA, an 86 overall is considered an elite player.
In NHL, you're in the top 250 with an 86 overall.

I really wish they'd increase the importance of offensive and defensive awareness. A player should be able to have really high physical attributes and be absolutely garbage on the ice. We see plenty of players that have a ton of speed, or have a monstrous shot. But they don't have the awareness to put it to good use on the ice.

If they did something like that, then you could keep the same rating system, but the game would play so differently.

I think Mason should have been in the top 10 honestly. He is an underrated goaltender.

Andersen makes the top ten when he wasnt even announced as the playoff starter till right before the playoffs.

how is this guy better than Luongo, BOTH SC starters, MAF, Dubnyk, and so on..

If anything, the ratings in the NHL games should be even more dynamic.

There's nights a player plays like a 75 and others where he plays like a 95. At least in FIFA they implement "form" where you're either in great form, good form, mediocre, poor, or terrible. In NHL, I'd like to see a player's rating fluctuate throughout the season. Consistency in itself should be a player stat. Some guys you pretty much know what you're going to get every night, but for rookies and streaky players it should be more variable.

Pricey. :yo:

If these ratings are any indication of the other positions, I'm gonna have a lot of editing to do.

Andersen over Fleury, Crawford, and Luongo? I don't think so. I really hate EA ratings.
