Kopitar came close last year during the cup run, but everyone was infatuated with Giroux and his playoff points total and regular season he had.

I'm seriously blown away that they completely ignore the reigning Conn Smythe trophy winner. These votes are bogus anyways in my mind. I think they pick who is going to be on the cover and throw out a vote so the fans can feel more apart of game per say. In my opinion, last year, Giroux was their pick all along. The just went along like the fans voted for it.
