Calgary Surprises Everyone, Wins Division

Under a new coach and a new general manager, the Calgary Flames became a powerhouse, accumulating 109 points in the regular season.
"No one expected us to be a playoff team," said GM Deku Scrub. "Not even me!"
You may be wondering, how exactly did Calgary become so good? All they did in the offseason was acquire Dennis Wideman and Jiri Hudler. Hudler did not have much of an impact, but Wideman was the team's best defenseman, scoring 53 points. At the beginning of the season, analysts stated that Calgary was weak at the center position. On paper, they were, but Matt Stajan and Mikael Backlund both had breakout career years. In the end, the biggest reason for Calgary's regular season success was Miikka Kiprusoff, who has been nominated for the Vezina Trophy. Here are the stats for the entire roster:
