I still cannot comprehend how we "tampered" with Kirk Cousins.
The extension he signed for 2023 voided after the franchise tag deadline, which meant he couldn't be franchised by the Vikings. He publicly and privately told the Vikings he would be speaking with other teams. I don't understand how you can tamper with a player that the other team has a) zero contract control over and b) said player made it clear he was going to talk to other teams before making a decision. What do a few days/hours of exclusivity matter? Just a stupid investigation/penalty.
