Buffalo Bills The Doldrums of the NFL Off-season have arrived

Grades

Maxwell Hairston: B+

- Great cover guy & ball skills. Smaller than I'd like for an outside corner. Not a good tackler.

T.J. Sanders: B-

- Solid 3T with some good pass rushing ability. Still think it's a bit high for a player who will be a rotational DL. Don't mind the player more has to do with the fit. Preferred someone who would replace DaQuan Jones like Alfred Collins.

Landon Jackson: C-

- Huge & great length. High character & high floor guy. Really struggles generating pressure despite his size. One of the worst in the class among EDGE. Similar profile to Payton Turner who looks to be a bust. Very stiff. Neck injury & 2 ACL tears in college.

Deone Walker: D

- A 3T in a NT's body. Did show some pass rush ability at Kentucky. Plays with a very high pad level. Was diagnosed with Pars Defect in his spine. Huge project. Not a fan. Needs to get much stronger & completely change the way he plays.

Jordan Hancock: B

- Good size, versatility, and athletisicm. Great tackler. Will get a chance in the slot, outside, and special teams. Needs a ton of work in his covering skills.

Jackson Hawes: B

- Excellent blocker. Will be a core STer. Doesn't offer much receiving ability. Lee Smith Jr.

Dorian Strong: A

- Great value pick. Long term starter at Virginia Tech. Good cover skills. Athletic testing wasn't great. Pretty skinny for a 6'1 corner.

Chase Lundt: F

- Big kid, but not a good RAS score (crucial for OL). OL has a very low hit rate in the late rounds. If you're gonna draft one at least go after a guy who is an exceptional athlete. Also one of the older prospects in the draft. Will turn 25 in June. Not a fan. Would be surprised if he's even on the roster next summer. Much better talent still available.

Kaden Prather: C+

- Tall outside WR. Meh athlete. Probably a STer.

Draft grade: B-

Walker can play both 1-tech and 3-tech. Does provide inside pass rush. Will play him all over. 2023 film very strong.
Couple guys including Hairston with good junior/season before last production. Feel like Beane and Co have valued that before.
#1 goal is to strengthen his back before camp. They may limit him during the Spring while they let him heal. (talking about Walker)
Honestly get him ready for the second half of the year, whatever it takes. Him getting right for the long term is most important.

Lee Smith was IMMEDIATELY what came to mind. I'll take version 2.0.
Lee Smith but meaner! lol

I think it makes more sense having a guy like this, who excels at blocking, as TE3 vs. someone like Morris, who was a decent all around TE but didn’t really excel at anything.

Have to make dinner and walk the hounds, can some post any top UDFA lists if they pop up tonight please ?

Read about Pars Defect. So, it’s a stress fracture of a vertebrae? Requires time and rest to heal and then Walker is good to go, from what I’ve read.

Am I missing something? Sounds like not a big deal.

Arkansas State OL Jacob Bayer joining Bills, per source. Bayer weighed in at 6’3″ and 315 pounds at the combine. Mike Garafolo also confirmed the signing.
Mississippi State WR Kelly Akharaiyi is joining the Bills, per the National Sports Agency. He posted a 25-391-2 stat line in 2024. At UTEP, he had a 48-1,033-7 stat line in 2023.
