Buffalo Bills The Doldrums of the NFL Off-season have arrived

In the regular season Coleman/Worthy was a tossup. Worthy really showed up for the playoffs while Coleman was a complete non-factor. I'm not saying Coleman can't be a #2 WR in time, but he had a very disappointing rookie year given the role he was handed.
You know your teams doing well when your rookie wr gets 560yrds and averages 19.2 yards per reception and he’s very disappointing.

I actually think an under-the-radar landing spot could be the Rams. Get an understudy for Stafford who's probably retiring soon and if they don't see progress they have 2 first rounders next year (thanks to the Falcons) to move around and land a guy next year.
I’ve been thinking Rams and Saints ever since Cleveland and Pittsburgh signaled zero interest.

Kevin Costner knows why sanders is falling.

GMs hate that shit.

But at this point I’m genuinely surprised that no one grabbed him as a stash piece.

He’s fallen so far he’s fallen through my “ha look at the arrogant jerk fall” and into my “20 yr olds are stupid and don’t deserve to be humiliated like this no matter how arrogant” but at the same time, without Deion, sanders is just another name in this draft and isn’t the biggest story in football. You pull the spotlight on yourself and now you’ve forced your son to dance in it.

Jackson is fine, and this is about the right sized investment into the edge group. But man is it tough to watch us take him while Watts and Winston are still on the board given how much their safety group struggled last year.
And the kicker -- Swinson, Ivey, Kennard, and Sawyer are all still on the board heading into round 4. How much of a delta is there really between those guys and Jackson? Watts and Winston are gone though.

What a thrill ride this is gonna be if they stay put.

That'd be fine if they weren't counting on him to make an impact immediately. He was out there for 75% of their offensive snaps. His QB won the MVP. I find those #'s pretty underwhelming for a guy playing that amount of snaps in a top offense. Not to mention he completely disappeared in the playoffs. We need a lot more out of Coleman this year. Let's hope he's up for the challenge.

And the offense was arguably the best in the nfl.

Maybe Kincaid and Coleman are working out just fine all things considering, despite the lack of counting production.

I think Shadeur throwing his teammates under the bus is what really did him in. You can be as cocky and flashy as you want in the NFL, but you cannot put yourself above the team like that, especially as a quarterback.

I mean you have to start drafting some game changing talent if you want to actually help Josh out. That's what McConkey looks like. Coleman looks to be a WR3 contested catch guy who can't separate. You want much more from your top pick.

Eagles/Chiefs have been getting ballers on both sides every draft. Meanwhile we're still taking guys that need 3+ years to develop & the "book is still open on them"

I wasn’t a fan of the Coleman pick when it happened, nor am I a fan now. I do like Keon. I love his personality. I just prefer WR’s that can separate.

Keon was progressing ok. He had a nice stretch in like, week 4-5-6. Jets, Seahawks and I think the Titans? He made some nice plays during that stretch. I think he got injured the week after when we played Miami. His season was awful after that.

The thing that worries me is I heard our lord and savior, QB1 JA17 say he heard Keon put on weight this offseason. Why the f*** is our WR who struggled getting separation putting on weight…..? I don’t get it. I understand the role of a possession kind of receiver but meeeeeehhhh..

Im not telling you anything you dont know when I say the offense was very good and it largely centered around Allen playing absolute hero balI, the offense leaning into Cook successfully and Shakir taking a leap forward. The receiving core outside of Shakir left a ton to be desired.
I get these guys are still young so they absolutely could be just fine, but i don't think it's unfair to view the expectations for those guys going into last season and view both of their seasons as disappointing. Thus far the Bills seem content with what they have for pass catchers so I guess we'll see if Palmer for Cooper was the upgrade at WR we needed. I look at our group of WR's and think it could be a very real weakness this season.

I heard that the other day as well and thought it was a real head scratcher.

I mean, Coleman's not a burner and never will be, and it also depends on what kind of coverages he struggled to get seperation off of. If he was constantly jammed up at the line, extra muscle to shed those presses more forcefully will create more seperation and hopefully open up more of those little slant passes that he almost took to the house against whoever it was (sorry I can't remember lol).

I also think that what he really struggled at in the 2nd half of the season was what was supposed to be his forte - the contested balls downfield. If he maintained his pre-injury rate on those I don't think we're even having this discussion. He really struggled downfield after the injury. If he can get back to winning those, he doesn't need to be a huge separator. We have Shakir for that. He can abuse the smaller DBs of the league who struggle making plays on the ball.

When asked Friday night to add context to Sanders' fall, one executive from a team in the quarterback market said there was "no smoking gun, but it's not just football, either."

The executive also indicated that Sanders' celebrity and the attention that he would bring complicates his selection because he is not seen as a star.
