Would love to package the 4th plus a couple of these later picks to come up for one more contributor.
I wonder if TeSlaa really was the pick until Detroit went up for him.So they traded down with the expectation of taking a WR.
I really don't care where guys are mocked. Cody Ford was mocked as a high first & so was Epenesa. There were mocks of Jackson going late 1st early 2nd. Getting him in the third is terrific value. I’m not even that high on him but D- is crazy. He’s going to be a better version of Epenesa imo.
The offense was amazing last year, too. I honestly think it was one of the best offenses of Allen's career. I love that our O line is in tact for the next few years. Outside of Allen, they have the biggest impact on the game. The team heavily invest in offense the last two years. This was needed on defense, love it
Right now.....that's setting up to be need #1 next offseason......especially if Milano doesn't get most/all the way back.I do worry a little about LB coming into this season. I'm not sure Milano ever got back to his normal self after coming back from injury, and I'm not sure Bernard is that guy either. And that's just the starters...if those two get banged up it could get ugly quick.
Sounds like Beane said he can play 1?So tell me again how well-suited Sanders is to play 1-tech
Well we don’t always get what we want. That doesn’t mean it’s a bad pick. I wanted Swinson. Or Watts.I really don't care where guys are mocked. Cody Ford was mocked as a high first & so was Epenesa.
He's the typical McD high character guy, can set the EDGE, lengthy & stiff, struggles getting after the QB. I don't want another Epenesa. I want the guy with the highest ceiling as a pass rusher.
They've got some room. End-of-roster OL, WR. Maybe a 4th safety candidate to push Hamlin and the other guy (forget his name). Maybe a 5th LB.They have no room for the remaining picks. Why not trade up for a potential contributor?
I feel like Epenesa is much more disruptive to the backfield than you’re giving credit for. He forces the action a whole lot and is good for 1-2 knockdown attempts at screen passes per game, that stuff doesn’t show up on the stat sheet but it matters. Ultimately if two or more guys are getting close to the QB it’s because an option was left available somewhere and they can’t all be Groot and Von.I really don't care where guys are mocked. I wanted Swinson as well. Every game I saw of LSU this year he made the opposing QB very twitchy and uncomfortableWell we don’t always get what we want. That doesn’t mean it’s a bad pick. I wanted Swinson. Or Watts.
This group Beane has built on D will generate a better pass rush. Have faith.
Yeah, their DL was mostly pretty good last year. And they still went out and added Bosa, Hoecht, Ogunjobi, Sanders, and Jackson.I'll lead with I really like our draft, but...
One thing that's interesting, analytically we were very good last year in pass rush (6th) and run stop (5th) win rates according to ESPN analytics.

We couldn't cover a cold for even a fraction of a second against KC, and the entire secondary outside of Benford graded very poorly on the season as a whole. I really thought they would look to upgrade the safeties. Hopefully Rapp stays healthy, Bishop takes that step, and Darrick Forrest doesn't suck!
We got a better version of AJE almost 30 picks after he was drafted 5 years ago and people are bitching.I feel like Epenesa is much more disruptive to the backfield than you’re giving credit for. Same. He plays violently. And he’s a better at getting to the QB. I think we’re so hellbent on getting pressure that we’re overlooking the big picture. Not the guy I wanted, but I can’t complain about the player, especially considering where he was selected.I wanted Swinson as well. Every game I saw of LSU this year he made the opposing QB very twitchy and uncomfortable
That you forgot his name is kinda the point. Go get someone who we will at least remember their name. They've got some room. End-of-roster OL, WR. Maybe a 4th safety candidate to push Hamlin and the other guy (forget his name). Maybe a 5th LB.
There is some room. Not a lot, but some.
