Buffalo Bills The Doldrums of the NFL Off-season have arrived

Like who? What players have put on significant amount of weight?

Maybe like late developmental picks. If you're taking a guy with a high pick there shouldn't be an expectation he needs to significantly add weight.

I’m not arguing that there should be an expectation or that it’s a good pick or anything (though I don’t mind it). I’m just disagreeing that it’s unrealistic to think these kids can’t add 15 pounds

Edge/WR/S more likely
I don't think WR is an option at all at 72. I'm thinking that the Bills are quite happy with Shakir/Coleman/Sanders/Samuel as our top 4 and then some ST play as #5 and/or #6.

I also think that the Bills like the safety room a lot more than us fans do.

Edge definitely seems most likely to me at 72 right now.

I know some are annoyed they didn't add a hulking 1-tech, but given they still failed to get DL pressure on the QB last offseason, I don't mind them priotizing pass rush over run stopping at all.
It's also a positive thing to see them prioritize the interior. We needed to get younger and more talented, rather than always relying on veterans who couldn't hold onto a starting job elsewhere.

It took four years for Beane to draft interior, after Oliver. Now, we have Dewayne Carter and TJ Sanders in back-to-back drafts. And, there's still time. Beane could take a wild swing on someone the same way he took a chance on Benford after Elam.

Great to see that kind of investment, rather than burning assets on a runningback year after year.

The trade up value seems just fine to me.
In terms of pick value coming and going, yes it was fine. That said, I think we all (including the Bills) would have hoped that he'd fall a bit more than pick 41.

So be it. Two years from now, no one will remember where he was picked.

That's literally what advanced metrics do better than raw statistics - they look at the context of each run (down + distance, spot on field, etc) and determine the success of it based on rates across the league.
And they do things like value your stats against Seattle the same as your stats against Baltimore.

Who cares what your defense looked like against an 8-9 team. The real competition ran you over.

Baltimore runs most people over. It's why they are who they are. Remind me who they beat in the playoffs, and who beat them. It wasn't the interior run defense that cost Buffalo against Kansas City. You can argue Mahomes hurt them on the ground, but that was caused by the ends having an awful game sealing the edges, not getting beat in the middle.

I don't care so much about the labeling of 1T vs 3T, my only problem is I did prefer a larger human being that would naturally help free up Bernard & Milano. The larger the mass, the harder for Olinemen to fight thru and get to the second level.

Edit: I should caveat that I like the pick, just slightly preferred a fatter man...

Where is Isaiah Bond projected to go? Saw he was 1 guy we had like 4 different meetings with.
