Wow i can't read. Lousy Manitoba edjamcation.

I blame the flat horizons. Staring out at a big line of nothing causes you to lose your tether on reality because you need to see mountains to keep you sane. I was there for 3 weeks when I was like 12 and I'm pretty sure it permanently warped me.

It's probably the 30+ years of exposure to the Blue Bombers that did me in.

It's actually crazy we're above .500 when you consider how little the offseason acquisitions have provided :

- Santander and Gimenez both sub-.600 OPS
- Hoffman 6.04 ERA
- Scherzer 3 IP

Barger looks like a freaking All-Star on both sides of the field. He's the story of this season so far. Another 5 times on base today.
I can’t decide what I’m more impressed with when talking about Barger, his approach at the plate this year or his absolute cannon of an arm at 3rd base (and also in the OF).

Possibly? It feels like it might be a bit of a stretch. But again, things are going to be very tight over the next couple days.

Plus Bo and Vladdy have been so-so.

The Jays reworked their website and now I can't find an easy way to see probable pitching matchups for future games...

EDIT: The dumb thing is that it turns out there is a page on their site for that, but it's not linked anywhere. I only got there via google.

So the upcoming series in Tampa Bay looks like:
Friday 23rd @ 7pm ET/4pm PT: Eric Lauer vs Drew Rasmussen
Sat 24th @ 7pm ET/4pm PT: Jose Berrios vs Shane Baz
Sun 25th @ 1:30pm ET/10:30am PT: Chris Bassitt vs Ryan Pepiot

To me it’s the plate discipline because it’s so unexpected.

Before the season I would have said his absolute upside if everything went right was to be a Randall Grichuk-type with a bit of power, lots of Ks, league average hitter in a corner OF spot. Suddenly it’s so much more than that at a much higher-value position.

Barger is a specimen. Can throw 100 mph ffs. Kid is a keeper. Hoffman clearly has the yips. Use Green or Jimi to close and give him more time in the 7th or 8th nnings.

When is Maxi back from his hang nail? Bowden, predictably, is getting lit up.

Still need some lumber. Lourdes and Teoscar had to be dealt for whatever reason.

If I hear Buck The Duck say "slider" once more I'm going to need a new tv. No only is his voice completely annoying, he tries to dumb the game down like he's explaining to a bunch of people watching their first game. Nice guy but it's time for him to retire after the year.

"Hopefully the Rays will be able to get back to the Trop."

Hopefully? You sure about that, Dan? You think anyone wants to go back to that monstrosity?

Clase continuing to make an impact.

Really hope he turns out, that kind of speed and bat aren't something you see together super often.
