Francis now winless in his last 8 starts. Makes an already tough situation for an undermanned rotation and taxed bullpen because outside of one start against a garbage Texas offense, this dude can't be counted on right now.

They need Scherzer to speed up the rehab process and Spencer Turnbull to be ready to go. You're not getting far with only 3 starting pitchers. For now, maybe give his spot in the rotation to Lauer.

Since Turnbull is almost back (June 9th at the latest I think is when his 35-day option clause is done) they'll probably just give him Francis' spot in the rotation.

Lauer will probably continue to see bulk innings behind an opener in the #5 spot until the trade deadline comes, or until Scherzer and/or Manoah are back, whichever comes first.
