join the fan club of our lord and saviourI had never heard of Alan Roden until this season and I have decided he is the greatest player to ever don a Blue Jays uniform.
I'm surprised that the ump didn't call a balk on the play TBH.Kirby’s wheels all up in Striders head
Ya his velo has dropped since first inningStrider looked rattled that inning. Too bad they couldn't take advantage, but really good ABs for the most part
The strings may have touched his bicep, but hard to tell. Call should stand
History shows 2 hitters get the most AB’s, I think.Still not sure why they keep having Vlad bat 2nd. When the team is healthy i'd go with :
Gimenez 2B
Bo SS
Vlad 1B
Santander DH
Springer RF
Varsho CF
Roden/Barger LF
Kirk C
Wagner/Barger 3B
On a side note despite a terribly awful start of a season Vlad is just 1 RBI away from the Jays leaders. Not sure if it speaks more about Vlad or the other guys ...
Yes but the first at bat there's nobody on. If the guys behind can't run them in that extra at bat they get in the 1st is useless.History shows 2 hitters get the most AB’s, I think.
I’m definitely down with moving Jimenez tho, but I’d slide him further down rather than up, and get Wags/Roden up top when they get settled.
I guess the top part of the glove touched
No, the extra at bat is at the end of the game. Hitting 3rd put Vladdy in the on-deck circle as a lot of games ended.Yes but the first at bat there's nobody on. If the guys behind can't run them in that extra at bat they get in the 1st is useless.
Can't watch the game outside of mlb gameday on the web site so i don't know what was the call on the field but to overthrown a call on the field made by a ref you need conclusive evidence. Basically if the call on the field is out you'll need a replay where you clearly see that the glove actually did not touch him in time. If the call is safe you'll need a replay where you can clearly see the glove touching. Very often the same replay can conclude that the call on the field was the right one even if it is out or safe cause the replay aint clear enough. That's the only explanation. I didn't see any conclusive evidence but whatever. I also can't figure out what the hell a balk is so I'm no baseball expert.
Clement has been the better of he and Wagner so far (warming up after a putrid start with the bat and a much better defender). Barger is a candidate to take 3B away (like Wagner and Martinez) long term.Still not sure why they keep having Vlad bat 2nd. When the team is healthy i'd go with :

The Clement/Lukes project should be over. They are both bench players and should not play as much as they are even with the injuries. Try kids.
