Blue Jays GDT: Next: vs Phi | Tue, Jun 3 | 7pm ET/4pm PT | Sanchez vs Francis

How bizzare is it to expect the face of the franchise, the biggest contract ever player, not to put the team on his back and say "I got this boys", and hit a homer or two.
Except this isn't basketball where one guy can will his team to a decent season.

The Angels had arguably the two greatest players of their generation at the same time and never once sniffed the postseason with them.

Vladdy has even less than that and is still doing fine. You would ideally want him to hit for more power but when this lineup has at most, 2 good bats it's not surprising what he's done.

I give up.

This is like criticizing a hockey player who had 4 assists because he didn’t score a goal.
Except if he had 4 assists, it means there were 4 goals scored.

A single with nobody out does practically f*** all with this team when they are in a rut like this.

HOMERS WIN GAMES, as you should have seen today and two days ago.

Scoring runs wins games.

A bloop single from Bichette would have won this game, too.

The best sluggers in the world hit a homer once every 5 games. If Guerrero was hitting at a 30 HR instead of a 20 HR pace this year it would be 3 extra runs for the team right now.

The problem with this team is that they were hitting .070 with RISP on this trip, not that Guerrero needed to somehow try harder and hit MOAR DINGERS.

Ya but DINGERS are instant runs, bonus runs if someone's on base.

Vladdy pumped his first after hitting a single with nobody on... WTF buddy, YEAH TRY HARDER.

I'm catching up after the Mem Cup game and am in the top of the 6th.

So my impressions of this game so far:

Before the sports stuff I was listening to a radio adaptation from the 80s of the first Star Wars movie (that ran like 3x the length of the actual movie). I should've stuck with that.

Look guys i know i sound like a broken record with the "homers win games" stuff, but after 2022 the homers have declined big time, and that started the decline in scoring runs. They are on pace to be lower than last year of 156.

It's just so frustrating to watch. nevermind the other deficiencies of this offense.

What a terrific performance by the pitchers. But that offence continues to fail with men on base. At this point, just sit Santander, give him time for a mental reset. He’s not even hitting with any velocity. He’s doing more harm than good to the team. It would also help if Varsho got his head out of his ass.

I like this other than Springer in the two-hole, but not sure who else should go there.
Using season OBP for Springer makes him look better than his recent performance, agreed he should likely be lower.

For the 2 spot I'd go either Kirk (safer option) or Barger (fun option with upside, and a reward for a younger guy).
