So glad they only focus on real problems like the playoff format and not things like this, or how terrible the officials are, or trying to spread games out..
NHL checklist of "real problems":

(1) Generating higher revenues

(2) Minimizing expenses

(3) Not enough junkets to exotic locales

(4) Upgrade NHL office facilities with bigger offices, Persian rugs, beautiful curtains, giant oak desks, valet parking, the latest Gulfstream, catered lunches including BBQ flown in from Austin on Fridays, an espresso machine in every breakroom, and at least one soft-serve ice cream machine per floor

(5) Upgrade computer infrastructure with AI to more easily deal with fan complaints without any human having to waste time on something that will be totally ignored anyway

(6) Finding third-world countries who will produce merchandise more cheaply than the third-world countries that are producing it already

(7) Increase sports-betting revenues by targeting addicted gamblers

(8) Increase golf outings for NHL execs and owners

(9) Pinpointing more billionaire suckers for additional franchises

(10) Identify minor things to tinker with so as to distract minds of fans

FLA could get rid of no state income tax and some would say to address the disparity in sunshine and beaches. Good that the NHL isn't going down this silly tax rabbit hole. Every city has pros and cons. So foolish to cherry pick one aspect and think the salary cap needs to be adjusted over it.

How could we get rid of something that doesn't exist in the first place?

It's very hard to tackle, and every post you see about cap credit to teams is not going to work.
It's not that difficult. The biggest benefit of playing for a team in a low tax state is by structuring your contract to have huge signing bonuses. Without the signing bonuses, the disparity isn't as greater as most would otherwise believe.

That said, I really don't think players are going to these teams over other teams because of tax reasons....I don't think that disparity really exists.

Literally every single player says they’re looking to sign in these locales come free agency and they alll take slightly less but yes no issue whatsoever

Everyone here saying it’s not an issue is the equivalent of a rich kid saying my dad got me the job but i worked hard and I would’ve been a VP anyway

Like Larry Brooks in the NY Post saying that state taxes help Florida become great. But the 15 years when they mucked around in 25th place don’t matter according to the Rangers unofficial spin doctor. Meanwhile he is writing on how the Rangers might move Miller and Lafreniere..to go with #2 draft pick Kakko who was exiled for a 3rd and a 6th.
