Maybe but the point stands if it took him 33 games to hit his 1st of the year. No matter how you want to spin it, he has lost his power game.
I agree. He wasn't a pure slugger obviously, but from 2021-2023 he hit at least 20 homers, and in 2023 hit 20 and missed about 20 games. It went downhill from there in 2024 when he was hurt and also not performing while not hurt for the first half of the year.

All the big guys power is down, why is that? It’s a concern. Unless you just believe in what the back of their baseball cards say? Santander ops’ing at .577 on May 5th is concerning. Bo only on pace for 5 home runs in 162 games with an ops of like .706 is concerning. Is there gonna be some kind of explosion coming where those guys revert back to their usual numbers? You'd think there has to be.

It's also funny to see the Japanese advertisements and sponsorships around Angels stadium that are artifacts of when they had Ohtani. Like the fact that Springer had a drink out of a Pocari Sweat cup earlier.

They have Kikuchi now. lol.

Really? how many have there been? I sure don't remember any lol..

I was being semi-facetious, because there's just been 2: Tonight's pitcher Jose Urena, and former part-time infielder Richard Urena, who was signed and developed by the Jays (with some minor-league stops in Baltimore and Washington around his Blue Jays stints.)

LOL ok, I though there were a lot and my mind just failing me.

I was a little surprised that there weren't more. Not that it's a super common name, but usually if I can think of at least one other person that shares that name it turns out there were probably others I didn't know.

Though it does turn out there have been 10 minor leagues named Urena, including 4 that are currently in an MLB system (1 Yankee, 2 Dodgers, and 1 Angel)

Ureña is a trash can and the hope is that you can get 5 IP, 4 ER or something out of him and score enough to stay in the game.
