No, it's on June 28.did i miss the stanley cup finals????
CBJ has a young team. This should work out well
Bettman has always been suspect, but now he's turning into a money hungry mongrel. 32 teams is perfect for where the league is right now, and it's clear that Arizona wants no part of the Coyotes. Don't even get me started on this whole Atlanta part 3 debacle. So bettman talks expansion and keeping yotes in Arizona. How about no more expansion for at least a decade and instead of relocating the coyotes, dissolve the franchise instead.
Atlanta got screwed with the Thrashers. Absolutely screwed. It wasn't the town's fault.Bettman has always been suspect, but now he's turning into a money hungry mongrel. 32 teams is perfect for where the league is right now, and it's clear that Arizona wants no part of the Coyotes. Another team cutting corners opting for a simulcast on radio. In this case the Kings fired the wrong guy, probably because Alex Faust made more than Nick Nickson.
I shudder when I think what will happen when Brendan Burke’s contract is up.
Yup. MSG already gave us a taste of cost-cutting this year when they didn’t send the tv crew to west coast venues, opting to have them call the games from the studio in Manhattan. The quality suffers but we still pay the same amount.Brendan Burke is going to get paid, and I doubt it’ll be by MSG, Unfortunately
Don't laugh. Brooks (or maybe it was Staple?) posted an article saying that he thinks Snow deserves another chance at a GM job."The Blue Jackets intend to name Mike Babcock as their new head coach once his contract with the Maple Leafs expires at the end of this month"
I think Snow's contract expires at the end of this month. I wonder what team is waiting to scoop him up?

hey....i would not disagree with that....except for that last presser with him and Dougie....that image of two truly unprofessional individuals will always remain in my brain....and hopefully anyone considering hiring either of them.Don't laugh. If AA gets that contract it makes me wonder if the Isles have the cap $ to sign Engvall.
It might not help in re-signing Engvall, but it might help in making Palmieri and Pageau more attractive trade chips since they are only $750,000K more to pay, and I doubt anyone would argue those two are less valuable to a team than AA is.Yep, I don't think that helps.
All depends on how Engvall feels about winning. Blackhawks might have to overpay as there is no chance for a cup, whereas Isles have still had success at least making the playoffs and he might take that 4m mark discussed to have more chance at the ultimate prize.Yep, I don't think that helps.

idk, it's a weird comparison. Athanasiou is a lot like Grabner was - a guy who will create his own chances no matter who is linemates are. But Grabner was much more valuable because of his mere presence on the PK completely altered a PP's approach. I don't think any good team would sign Athanasiou to that deal. (In 2018-2019 in Arizona, 9 of Grabner's 16 points & 6 of his 9 goals were shorthanded. That's insane. AA has 1 SHG in his career.)Hard to say. Looking at just points, Engvall had 30 pts, exactly 75% of Athanasiou's 40 pts. Prorating using this contract as a basis, that'd put Engvall at about 3.2m, which I think would be doable.
Just grateful this wasn't us. Contract is a disaster.
