Mr. Preachy
Pretty much. Not sure he's played C in the Q at all.Just my 2 cents this morning:
If your 1OA is a LW, he’s a LW. You build your team around that not the other way around.

Oh yeah... JonesThe Robertson and Jones pucks were especially great. Robertson was considered a first round talent and Jones might be one of the big steals
Wait...THAT WAS REAL?!
ADA’s value is on both the Power Play and Overtime. His meaningful moments do add up.
He was 3rd in scoring by a defenseman at even strength this year.
Any team that wants to categorize him as a PP specialist is probably a pretty shitty team.
I wouldn't.
No crazy travel schedule prior to rookie season, no learning a new language and hes a better player coming into the league. Hes more physically ready to handle the rigors of the NHL and just from a mental standpoint, he's been ready for this.
I wouldn't play the 2 of them together at ES though. Like it or not, Quinn is going to start him next to Howden or Chytil and on PP2 unless he just forces the issue (and even then, that may still be the case bc Quinning.)
I think 60-70 points in a full season with proper PP time is entirely possible.
Lafreniere should never lace them up in Junior again. The risk/reward just isn't there for a month or two of padding his stats against teenagers so we can oo and ah over his development.

Call me greedy but the only way Ottawa is getting that 1OA is for the 3rd, 5th and Tkachuk.
We should not trade that 1OA unless its for a massive overpayment.
I don't think it would be about padding his stats. It would be an opportunity to play hockey and get in game shape after a long layoff, rather than waiting another 2 months. Though if the rule isn't amended, then it won't happen regardless.
Why bother asking? Wont matter what we tell you or what they do.How does Lafreniere compare to Kakko?
Having currency in the cap world and trading away a 60 point defenseman or a 50 point center when you are trying to compete is how you get yourself into perpetual rebuilds.respectfully disagree.
If you want a well of talent so that in 5 years you can replace a current vet w/somebody fresh/younger/cheaper, at some pt you have to fill that well.
Your "nothing tangible" insinuates value is pissed away for nothing.
Quite the opposite.
It is potential, and that can be signif.
Also often more potential dealt for proven assets, so lots of hits with potential to profit with abundance of riches.
Finally, picks are universal currency. Flexibility.
Just my comments for your reconsideration.
peace out
I was being a little facetious with the stat padding, but I stand by never playing in Junior again. Too many opportunities to damage his future.I don't think it would be about padding his stats. You also signed the best available free agent who turned into a Hart nomineeI'm still in shock. Kakko last year and Lafreniere this year. I've been a fan since 1988 and I didn't think that I'd ever see us in this position.

Teams that are looking to compete are looking to bring those types of players in, not ship them out. Gorton is not making those types of deal.
That is setting yourself up for a lot of disappointment.I think 60-70 points in a full season with proper PP time is entirely possible.
Name them.Bold, not so, esp when you have younger, cheaper, effective replacements.

Yes there was. You just ignored all those reasons. Years after multiple people clearly explained it you still pretend otherwise. He would not except if there was exceptional chemistry which I wanted them to try, b'c they fit the model:
driver of play -- facilitator -- finisher
with LaF now, that point is moot.
Kreider is still the driver,
while Zib can contribute additionally he fits as facilitator
and LaF is a talented scorer/finisher.
Barring injury, the Nieves experiment is over NOW, but it is over b'c
LaF should play on THAT line, and
value of LaF as finisher with Zib as facilitator
is way greater than
Zib as facilitator with Nieves as facilitator and LaF as sniper elsewhere.
However, betw. then and now, there is zero reason for them not to have tried it.
Then people have unreasonable fears.I think there is a fear of Strome being resigned to an unreasonable deal so people want to see him dealt.
