New visor rule

Yes, they changed it so that you have to have a visor that covers the eyes properly and not tilted up.

The odd thing is that Komarov is grandfathered in and doesn't need to wear a visor at all. So I don't understand why he chooses to wear one and then tips it up so it provides no protection and risks making his team shorthanded. Just take it off...

He's grandfathered too. He doesn't have to wear one. So dumb.

So you’re allowed to play without a helmet but if your helmet is tilted you get a penalty... ok

Well before he got the penalty, he was warned by Peel the previous shift, It looked not bad when
he came to the bench, but the camera never showed if he pushed it back down.

He was also warned 1 or twice in pre-season, so not like I was surprised.

10 minutes into the first game of the season and the refs are already ruining games

wtf let me ref I would do better than these idiots

So you’re allowed to continue play without a helmet if your helmet comes off but you can’t wear your visor up?
You can play without a helmet as long as the visor is tied to your ears.

The refs are following the orders of the league, i.e. doing their jobs. The league is clamping down on these issues to get out in front of the inevitable lawsuits that players initiate when they get injured and say that the NHL didn't do enough to protect them.

Komarov has said he doesn't feel safe without it, but having it all the way down hinders his view.

Can someone explain why a tilted visor is bad.

Is it some type of safety issue for the other players in the ice?
