We've got a new function available to help clean up the linking of tweets, peoples. (Also known as, one more ****** thing I won't remember or know how to do.)

type "Tweet" (without quotes) in brackets, preceded by the standard / in the closing bracket. In between these tags, enter the tweet ID, which can be obtained by clicking on time link in a tweet. The ID is the number at the end of the link (just the long string of numbers). Note: if adding by any of the quick menus, the embedded code will be invisible to you until you fully load the page.

This is brand new so there could be some bugs, but try this out and see how it works. (If there are some bugs, they can be shared with admin.)

So: ["tweet"]546310832573804544[/"tweet"]

Now remove the quotes and you have:

For those who haven't figured out other coding:

To post pictures or GIFs, use and close with the forward slash as above. Make sure to use the image-specific URL.

For YouTube links, only use the portion of the URL after the =. There's a quick-code button for YouTube, or you can type [MEDIA=youtube] and close again with the forward slash.

Speaking in my capacity as a webgeek, I admit I still don't see why said features shouldn't be able to just let you copy-and-paste the URL. I mean, the UIDs of each element (Youtube video, Twitter tweet, etc.) are pretty readily extractable via some really simple string processing, and just using the URL is a heck of a lot easier on nongeek users...

...heck, if possible, I'd be willing to take a look-see at whatever plugins are responsible and put that in myself.

In general I agree. (Although individual tweet URLs are still a "step".)

The coding probably comes from above HF, i.e. vbulletin or wherever, so figuring out how to get your offer there would be as confusing as posting a YT vid.
