New Season Brings New Playoff Bar. What will it take this year?

So what will it take this year? Well, one might assume that’s an easy enough equation, with 93 points equating to roughly 1.13 points-per-game or approximately 54 points over a 48 game stretch. While this could very well end up being the bar, or close enough, what needs to be considered in this distinctly unique season is that each and every one of the NHL games will be played between teams of the same conference. Thus, using the Leafs as an example, those points won on a Western road trip would not have been an effective measuring tool for the bar that will be required this time around.

not that big of a conspiracy, I put up the articles for the writers, and i ask them to watch the thread to see if there are any comments they could be helpful with. We feel posting links and not being there to reply is inconsiderate. plus we enjoy the feed back it helps us get better. At the end of the day we are just Leaf fans too so interacting is fun.

As mentioned in the article. In a 82 game season, that projected standard includes 18 games against the other conference. An intra-conference average is more accurate for this year, thus a 57 point bar.
