Was listening to ESPN LA 710 at lunch and heard an announcement as this being the new Kings radio home. I’m not familiar with the ESPN radio app and how well or not well it works, but it’ll definitely be more convenient now in the car. Does anyone know if we’ll be able to listen to the games when out of market like iHeart?

My apologies if this has already been talked about elsewhere. This is news to me.

You should be able to listen to the ESPN LA app when out of market.

The 24 hour 7 day a week "LA Kings Audio Network" is no more.

When the games are on you should be able to simply visit the ESPN LA app (or the Kings app or the NHL app) and listen to the game.

Lame. We have multiple college teams with their games on local radio -- yet a professional franchise is not. Sad how far down the give-a-crap that hockey is within the greater LA market.

There will be a portion of the schedule that will appear on ESPN 710AM but it's not the full schedule.

EDIT: "Approximately 25 Kings games for the upcoming season will be broadcast on ESPN Radio 710"

For those that care... Kings Talk will continue to be made available as a downloadable podcast the following morning.

They don’t treat the radio broadcast as a serious professional endeavor. You should see who they have doing the pregame and intermissions!

Wait a second. So are the other games going to be still on iHeart?

What the hell is this organization doing. This was a good network. ESPN is trash.

Dont think you'll have to worry about, they only talk lakers 80% and DodgersRams 15% of the time
Yup. Pretty much this. Stopped listening a long time ago.

No more iHeart. The LA Kings Audio Network 24 hour a day 7 day a week iheart channel is no more.

All 82 games can be heard on the ESPN LA App. Somewhere around 25 of those 82 games will also be available on EPSN 710 am.

Shocking. I suppose the ESPN LA app is not available for those of us in Europe.

It's gonna be confusing. I found this webpage:

Not sure whether that's identical to the app or not. Or is that the AM broadcast? :skeptic:

Good news, anyway, is that this particular ESPN webpage stream can be launched normally here in Europe, unlike iHeart Radio, which required a US VPN server.

I'll ask around and see what I can find out.

I'm told that you should be able to access the ESPN LA app outside of the good ol' US of A but I don't have any first hand experience trying it so.... I don't know for sure.

More information as it arrives.

preliminary reports are that the app is not available in Sweden... but that's just me reaching out to my buddy and asking him to download it

Confirmed. I used a VPN to set my location to Vancouver, and the app still works (I live near Seattle but wanted to set myself outside the country for a more reliable test of the issue)

I will delete iheart from my phone and android vehicle apps now. I had no reason other than the occasional game while driving to use it. Thanks for the heads up.
