Playoff match-ups should be determined by team selection.

Top seeded team chooses their opponent first, and so on.

If you pull off an upset, you steal that teams selection priority for the next round. So if the 8th seeded team beats 1st seeded team in round 1, they pick their opponent first for round 2.

Anything factual that can be reviewed should be reviewed.

If the reviews are too slow, make them faster.

Review every single play after every single whistle to ensure that nothing was missed.

If anything was missed, it must be called during the stoppage and the clock rewound to the point at which the infraction took place.

Sure, games will take 7 hours. But that’s a lot more time for commercials!

That is never going to happen ever... It just creates boring matches.

I absolutely hate the puck over the glass as a penalty rule. It should be treated as an icing, no line changes allowed for the team that throws the puck out.
Yes! Though I would add to the rulebook just for completionist sake, that the rule applies even when shorthanded.

Why is cross checking allowed? Nobody knows what is or isn't a penalty.

Every playoffs star players seem to get hurt by cross checking.
I really hate this gray area... Cross-checking is okay, unless it crosses the threshold of what's too strong of a cross-check and then it's a penalty. In the playoffs it's almost non-existent unless it's beyond obvious or hurts someone. And still not usually a penalty even if it hurts someone, especially after the whistle, which is when they should definitely not be allowed.

Nah, much easier to flip the puck out in any given direction than one specific one in which all opponents are facing. I'd introduce a 1 minute penalty which you could also use on certain non-scoring chance affecting infractions that don't really deserve giving the other team a 20% chance of scoring.

NHL fans "how can a ref make that call, they should be fired for making such a bad call on the ice"

NHL"ok here is a rule that makes those quick easy to miss details less of an issue for teams to overcome"

NHL fans " no no no, less reviews we like when the refs make those bad calls"

The refs are going to blow some calls because of the speed of the game, but that's not the major problem with officiating.

The problem is deciding what's a penalty based on the scoreboard and time left in the game. Video review isn't going to correct that.
