Ah bummer. Looks like no more Bachman Turner Overdrive.

This mask wouldn't be bad if it was just stayed flat colors. Get rid of all the airbrushed faces and mini logos and you have a top 10 mask.. instead it's trash.

I tried to fix it in photoshop, but it didn't work out as well as I thought.. I may give it another try.

EDIT: Gave it another try.. you get the idea from this, obviously the shadows and reflections aren't there.

Psh, I bet that one doesn't even glow in the dark.

That looks tons better - no 10 million mini-logos, random logos all over, the small #32 at the chin, etc - basically all the extra junk that makes DaveArt "the cradle of creativity".

Judgiung by the bit of orange you can see..it might be the bottom end of the Slimmer Talbot has been known to have...assumption is that its Talbots mask.

The only thing I don't get is why Dave, errr, our greatest living artist is so humble. "Cradle of creativity" seems a little overmodest for such a significant cultural icon as someone who paints goalie masks.

I think he's showing his excitement more than his lack of humility. The dude is living his dream and loves his job. I may not like his style but his professional clients obviously do and that's who hires and pays him.

That base design is the best I've seen on an NHL mask in years. I freakin' love it.

Hopefully the faces and mini-logos will fade under normal viewing conditions and it'll look more or less like what you posted. Because that's really an awesome look.
