I personally quite like him was a player. I just see him as one potentially that Tre may want to move, especially if he wants to further shake up the D core.

Timmins has a lot of offensive upside, probably where Holl was at at the end of the Babcock era, not really being a full time NHL player. Will need to take a couple of steps forward and establish his place.

There is potential there but he needs to play to live up to it. If he isn’t going to get playing time here that cap space would be better used elsewhere
This is the tricky and sad part about being a strong team.

I mean, you’d probably still easily be in the playoffs with this top6 and top4 with a bunch of Marlies and projects filling out the roster. There’s still room to develop guys and compete at h the same time. Those were obviously deliberately exaggerated ratios, but I’d like if there was a bit more emphasis on letting players grow at the same time. The first two periods of games up until the deadline….see what you actually have.

Leave a roster spot or two to rotate guys in and out, take their licks, play the NHL game.

Maybe Murray, Timmins, CHI 5th and OTT 7th to Chicago for future considerations or Jared Tinordi?

I think the problem is Giordano. Obviously, his cap-hit isn't a huge concern because he gets paid so little but it's rather the notion that he's being 100% penciled in the lineup because of his name.

He looked abysmal and slow in the playoffs, especially in the panthers series. Its part of the reason keefe kept going to the 7 D tactic. He's washed and him retiring would help us not only get rid of his 900K cap hit (ever penny helps) but also clear up some logjam back there

Giordano is done

I think the biggest hole right now is Rielly's partner. It's too bad because IMO Schenn fit like a glove, especially with shift in identity for the team.

Rielly has proven he doesn't need a prototypical top pairing guy to excel. At the moment though, there's no money left.

Brodie plays both LD and RD, right? So he could partner up with Klingberg and hopefully insulate that pairing. McCabe with Lil.

I actually think Dumba would be a great fit with Reilly but too bad we dont have money left

Islanders would not deal Dobson for Nylander extension or not

Hes a 50 pts young D who is their likely 1D for the future signed for another 2 years at 4M. Probably their most untouchable piece afer sorokin
