I think we need another two way center who can play on the third and pk.
These charts have little to no actual value so I’m not overly worried about anyone we’ve signed
Him or Pius Suter.Toews is the guy if he’s healthy and if we can convince him to come at like $1-1.5M max
He is a name they recognize. I don’t really want him but if we do get him he has to change his number back to 55Why is it people are fascinated by Dumba of all players? A smallish offensive D, who doesn't provide much offense, and not a lot of defense... Like why?
They seem to be pretty accurate with the eye test usually.
I'm not concerned with our signings as our offense dries up and we usually have good D in the playoffs, but if we start signing a bunch of guys who are bad defensively, I will start to worry.
Klingberg, Domi, Reaves, and Bertuzzi are all bad on D, some are terrible (Domi/Klingberg), but they should add a lot more offense and Sammy is one of the best on dangerous chances, so I think these actually end up being good adds.
Trades tavares for a younger center or a D and a hole at number 2 cTavares has lost a step clearly and not a $11M player today, but any insinuation he isn’t still a well above average quality 2C is a joke. He needs the right linemates to maximize what he can contribute now, but he’s not hurting us anywhere beyond the cap
They’re a mixed bag at best in terms of accuracy. I also think usage and situation can dramatically impact these kinds of things. Klingberg for example has been a top 4 d for better part of a decade, and while his greatest strength has always been his offense, prior to the last couple years (one being on a terrible Anaheim team) he was never the liability he’s become known as. In fact, Dallas was prepared to give him a 64 million dollar extension. I refuse to believe his defensive game individually just completely imploded.
He was a liability before Anaheim.
I think toews is done… he was one of my favorite players but I can only see him as a Winnipeg jet for sentimental reasonsToews is the guy if he’s healthy and if we can convince him to come at like $1-1.5M max
I like Lindholm but if he walks away in a year we are in the same position as if we let Nylander walk away for nothing. But if Lindholm is willing to sign an extension that is much more reasonable than Willy there could be something thereWhat do you guys think of something around Nylander and Lindholm?
Lindholm is 28, a center, and pending UFA with a 4.85M cap hit. He doesn't look like he wants to re-sign in Calgary.
Nylander is 27, a RW, and pending UFA with a 6.96M cap hit. He looks like he wants to cash in with a 9M+ contract.
Nylander is the superior offensive player, and probably wouldn't mind playing in Calgary where he was born and where his father played (assuming they pay him what he wants).
Lindholm is the more well-rounded player and he's a right shot center, who could allow Tavares to move to the wing.
More pieces could be added to make the cap work and to balance the roster, but these two would be the principles.

It's the worst trade anyone has ever seen.what in the holy hell is this?
We were talking about the Tampa Bay Lightning. What are you talking about?Yes but we can pick one of those at TD. We lost Shchen and Muzzin. There is something missing on that backend.
I still think Philadelphia is our best bet when it comes to trading Nylander. They're pretty much willing to give Sanheim away.
