New GM Trades and Signings Part 2

Based on the current roster:

Bertuzzi Matthews Marner
Domi Tavares Nylander
Knies Kampf Jarnkrok
Lafferty Holmberg Reaves

Rielly Brodie
McCabe Klingberg
Gio Liljegren

Samsonov
Woll

- Need more depth at center. A proper #2 center is a must
- Defence is still extremely weak defensively. McCabe & Klingberg should be on the bottom pair with a solid #3 & #4 brought in.

I'd think Nylander/Pesce would be extended before any deal. But I would do this. Would also swap Teuvo for Jarvis if Carolina preferred

Domi should be the 3c
 
Love all the moves in totality so far except the Klinger (1 × 4.15) signing. Would have loved to keep Schenn (3 × 2.75) and Acciari (3 × 2) instead, but Living Tree doesn't seem to want to give up term outside of Reaves and Kampf.

We can’t accrue cap space with Muzzin on LTIR. We would have to trade him as well for that to happen

I’d say we are still a work in progress most likely, but it’s worth note that Treliving specifically mentioned in his first media availability that his team won’t be doing fly bys. I think we have lots of player capable of playing physical that will now be expected to do so consistently coming from the top down

I dont think he doesnt want to. I think there are 3 very large variables that make things tricky. Until the dudes are signed or traded he doesnt know how much money he needs to allocate for them.

Yes but we can pick one of those at TD. We lost Shchen and Muzzin. There is something missing on that backend.

I agree. I think he would be good fit assuming he is healthy. Would make trading nylander less problematic as well if needed.

Not sure how much money or term he wants. He would need to be reasonable with the money which he may not be.

If we traded nylander for pesce and sign kane i think we are probably in good position for next year.

I don't think the lineup will look anything like that.

Tavares is also a good 2C (one of the best), he just needs players who play at his speed, not Nylander.

Tavares has lost a step clearly and not a $11M player today, but any insinuation he isn’t still a well above average quality 2C is a joke. He needs the right linemates to maximize what he can contribute now, but he’s not hurting us anywhere beyond the cap
