Rielly +

Sharks gets a 1D who can be a young vet for their team as they rebuild, Leafs get Rielly on steroids. And at $7 million they can even retain on Rielly and trade him for a haul.
That was my initial thought as well as to what I might consider..

However Mo Riells was give the full NMC by you know who, so he would 100% need to waive his full no move that he just signed last year to stay in Toronto,

Rielly is 29 years old and makes $7.5 mil X 7 years remaining vs Karlsson at age 33 with 4 years @ $11 mil balance. Even if the Sharks retained $2.5 mil per Leafs would have him at $8.5 mil.

Murray's deal can always be moved if cap space becomes an issue to the deal.

Rielly's from BC...Sharks play in the pacific, maybe playing near his hometown more/same time zone would be an incentive.

Boston a fellow Atlantic rival that traded assets for him are walking away over price and term. He would know for sure $$ and term.

Tyler Bertuzzi remains unsigned, Don Sweeney says Bruins out of mix

Free agent Tyler Bertuzzi still hadn’t signed anywhere as of Saturday, but when he does it won’t be in Boston according to GM Don Sweeney.

Speaking to the media after the first day of free agency, the Bruins general manager admitted he really hoped to bring Bertuzzi back. But Sweeney admitted there wasn’t enough salary cap flexibility available to make it happen.

“It’s all the factors. The term that he’s rightfully probably earned. The AAV that he’s seeking. There are other teams in that may be in position to provide that we probably weren’t,” Sweeney said. “He’s going to land in a really good spot for he and his family. We wish him luck. He was a great piece of our puzzle. We would dearly like to have brought him back and extended him.”

All UFAs are UFAs because their team walked away…

Hear me out on this.....how about the framework of a deal centered around Matt Murray for Conor Garland? Vancouver has been actively shopping him and the 3 years left on his deal and couldn't give it away. That gets the Canucks a veteran backup to Demko, and the Leafs some scoring depth since they spent $8 million on 3 bottom of the lineup players totaling 22 G. The Leafs gamble on Garland's upside.

I think it works for us. Not sure about the Canucks but clearly they want to dump Garland. I think I prefer him over Domi anyway?

Adding his speed and upside would be quite alright.

Thank god he was given that NMC so something like Rielly for Karlsson doesn't happen.

Radim Zohorna and Marc Johnstone signed in Pittsburgh. It’s looking like the Marlies will need to do a lot of work too.

I am fine with giving a lot of the younger Marlies time to play. Ovchinnikov, Kressler, Tverberg, Hirvonen and Voit should all be full time Marlies.

They definitely need a couple depth moves at forward though, players that can push for roles at camp.

Several of Dubas' prospects will be graduating to the Marlies this year and will occupy roster spots.

Hirvonen
Voit
Tverberg
Niemela
Ovchinnikov

where did the like feature go ?
I didn't have it for a minute. I think it means you were "warned" about something or a post and they took away your abilities temporarily.

They give it back to you at some point

Mathew Knies - Auston Mathews - Mitch Marner
Max Domi - John Tavares - William Nylander
Tomas Tatar - David Kampf - Calle Jarnkrok
Ryan Reaves - Mason Shaw - Sam Lafferty

Is this doable? If we buy-out Murray

Rodrigues signing in Florida, 4 years x $3 million isn’t a bad contract for a guy who has been around .5ppg the last couple of years, primarily used as a winger, but can play C too.

Oh, I appreciate that, but I do think we are short bodies overall still. They’ve only signed one guy for the Marlies as of yet.

I’d have to find an org chart as to where we stand.
