I have no issue with Reaves, or bringing him in. He should be fun to watch. It won’t matter at all, depending on the other business we do. This signing should be inconsequential in the grand scheme, if we do the right things to build the roster.

Hoping we add some jam to the top/middle 6.

OEL has been at best a replacement level player, to be honest $2.25 is an over pay on how he’s played.

With the Ryan Reaves deal, I really don't see anything else to get excited about from a Leaf standpoint

It's never about any one player, but if you overpay on most of your team irrespective of role you eventually burn up cap space.

What we are doing is keeping our marketable stars (the plan all along) and backfilling the rest of the roster with plugs. The intention is not to win a Cup. This organization is not about a Cup. Why do you think rentals leave as quickly as they arrive.

Being that we are the Leafs I won’t be shocked if this is when the League finally decides to take tampering seriously.
We shouldn’t even be able to talk to Reeves yet and the media already know the terms for the deal.
I know everyone does it but this is an extreme example. It would be hilariously bad but completely on brand for us to get fined a draft pick for this

Acciari's agent is Lewis Gross. Same as Johnny Hockey, Nylander and Sandin. He was always taking him to Free agency. He is going to do the same thing with Nylander unless they dramatically overpay. So obvious.

Losing Martin is one of the underrated mistakes of this era of Leafs. Guy was loved by the room and a warrior who was more than willing to stick up for his teammates, and he could actually play unlike old man Simmonds and Clifford.

The problem was Babcock even stopped playing him.

I don’t agree that we weren’t close. A smart GM definitely could have made smart moves to make us a serious contender.
We unfortunately didn’t get a smart GM
