New GM, New Trades and Signings Thread

He's no different than Martin brought in by Lou, or Dubas bringing in Clifford and Simmonds. Another useless 4th liner that does nothing to address the lack of toughness on the rest of the roster that gets 95% of the remaining ice time

Matt Martin can actually play though. He can hit and decent with the puck
Great guy in the room as well
Martin isn't a liability either. He's been a plus player in 80 games

Ha ha tough room this morning. With all the players leaving its not like spots can be filled with Marlies, that cupboard is bare too. We need bodies, too many leaving and not enough coming in........yet.

Losing Martin is one of the underrated mistakes of this era of Leafs. Guy was loved by the room and a warrior who was more than willing to stick up for his teammates, and he could actually play unlike old man Simmonds and Clifford.

Exactly, that's why the Browns, Yamamotos, Comtois, and such need to be considered as replacements

Can Cal Foote be a Kral replacement?
 
Luke f***ing Schenn has been on league minimum contracts for the last 5 years and one decent run playing with Rielly the guy thinks he's prime Chris Pronger lmao.

Luke Schenn led the eague leaders in hits last year

A league leader in hits while a D is not a league minimum player. He also got into 6-8 fights, especially with big boys
So yeah, he's worth more than league minium. There are players getitng paid more than that for doing less

Anywhere but TO, faux tough guy, did not like this player last year. First year he was fine but regressed and became very unlikable. On second thought, he fit in perfectly with many other unlikable Leaf players

Not saying his style of play has no value, it's just that the Maple Leaf mark-up is not fiction. Players on this team seem to be worth more than similar players on other teams just by virtue of the market/media size
 
I have no issue with Reaves, or bringing him in. He should be fun to watch. It won’t matter at all, depending on the other business we do. This signing should be inconsequential in the grand scheme, if we do the right things to build the roster.

Hoping we add some jam to the top/middle 6.
