New German U20 coach Kuenast looking to bring country back to top division

</p>In a rash of changes, Germany has named new coaches to its men’s, U20, and U18 national teams. A year full of relegations and moderate play internationally has led to a number of changes in the German Ice Hockey Federation, and new wind is hoped to get the program back on track.

After Pat Cortina most recently headed the men’s team and the U20 squad, Marco Sturm has been put in charge of the men’s team, and his brother-in-law Christian Kuenast will be taking over the huge task of getting the U20 squad back to where the federation, and the international ice hockey community, feel Germany belongs – amongst the world’s top 10 clubs.… read more

Good stuff. To me Germany's always been #8 among the hockey nations behind the Big 6 and Slovakia. Hopefully they can get back to that actual rankings on the overall list.

Germany is ranked 13th in the IIHF World Rankings (behind the "big six", Switzerland, Slovakia, Belarus, Latvia, Norway and France).
