New Fantasy Hockey League

Looking for people who want to join a new dynasty fantasy league. Would be cool to fill it with all active StL HF members. Goal is a 16 team league.

$40/buy-in which will actually be 2 years worth of dues ($20/season), this is to promote active participation and multi-year team building. All money goes toward league prizes.

League will be hosted on ESPN, and payments handled through Leaguesafe.

H2H pts league, with cats: G, A, SOG, HITS, BLKS /// W, SAVES, GA, SO

32 player rosters, with NHL-esque starting lineups

4 forward lines
3 defensive pairings
1 goalie

8 of 16 teams make playoffs, with prizes set at: 1st: $100 2nd: $60 3rd: $40 4th-8th: $20 & Most regular season points: $20 bonus (prizes based on filling all 16 spots)

Keep 28 of 32 players on your roster year-over-year. With a 4 round rookie/replacement draft each offseason.

Inaugural draft will be Sun Oct 2nd at 6pm central.

Daily or weekly lineups?

How many points are each category worth?

Are draft picks tradeable?

Is there in-season waivers or free agency?

Weekly lineups

You can trade the following years draft picks as part of a trade (1st - 4th round picks)

Free agency and 3 day waivers processed throughout season. No free agency movements from end of season till following draft. Trades would be allowed in-season up till the trade deadline and also during the offseason.

Scoring:

G 2pt
A 1.5pt
SOG 0.25pt
HIT 0.25pt
BLK 0.25pt

W 3pt
SO 1pt (shut out wins total 4 pts, 3pt + additional 1pt)
GA -2pt
SAVE 0.25pt

Top scoring 2022 players at each position for reference: McDavid 310pts, Josi 275pts, Shesterkin 281pts.

Snake draft or auction? My preference for the initial draft in a dynasty league is auction since the true studs like McDavid can carry a team for 10+ years.

We will be snake drafting. However, i came up with a competitive balance rookie selection draft to reward the teams who received a lower pick, since they have zero chance of landing McDavid, Matthews, Draisaitl etc...

We will use a random draft generator to determine the draft order for the main draft, teams will receive a draft position of 1-16. In addition, teams will receive a competitive balance supplemental rookie pick that will be added to their team before the main draft. The pick will be determined by your personal top 16 ranking of real life 2022 NHL 1st round rookies. These rookies will be awarded to the teams in opposite order of the main draft, so 16-1.

Further explanation: If your team lands 16th overall in the main draft, which is the last pick, you will have first choice of adding any 2022 NHL rookie 1st rounder to your team. So you could choose Slavkofsky, Nemec, Wright...etc, once the 16th team is awarded their top rookie, the 15th team is awarded their top choice still available, and then on to 14th team and so on.

it means you invert order each round. so 1st pick in 1st round gets last pick in 2nd round.
