Amazing first period by Necas -- but my god did Georgiev ever tee it up for him. Necas scored 3 goals on 4 shots. That's not four shots all taken by Necas -- that was four shots total by the entire Canes team. That's got to be the NHL record for a hat-trick scored with the fewest shots total overall...

Crazily enough, not even the fastest hat trick to start a game in Canes history. Apparently Stillman did it faster in 2007
