Being serious, it's a bummer that our stars have been so awful at putting the ball in the hoop in 6 of our first 7 games, but I've really enjoyed seeing RJ, IQ, and Mitch looking better than ever...and DDV looks like a great fit.
With IQ not getting an extension what do you think his future is?

So I'm not someone who follows the NBA anymore, beyond the headline type stuff. Is this mid-season tournament like a legitimate thing that player, teams, and fans actually care about? Or will eventually care about? Or is it just some BS thing? Curious because it feels like if the NBA does it and it's popular, that hockey will end up doing something similar.

Who knows. It doesn't sound like the figure he was looking for was unreasonable, so the FO probably didn't offer it because they were concerned about any trade complications if IQ was needed to trade for a star. Which would suggest that if no such trade happens they'd be happy to bring him back...but I also wouldn't be shocked if Quickley wanted to leave so he could start next season; assuming Brunson wasn't the one who got traded.

The bonuses seem significant enough for the players to care, but we'll see if the fans start to care once there's some tradition to it.

The bonuses are nice for the players, and I think players will care if they make it to Vegas at the end. However, I don’t think players would go out of their way to not sit out games during pool play for small injury or load management.

The positive is pretty much all the games count as regular season games, so they aren’t just preseason type games with no meaning.

Another day, another Knicks win with RJ there to lead the way. 4-2 now with our star and 0-2 without him; as Barrett once again scored efficiently (24pts on 8-17) and took care of the ball (6ast 0 TO). On a night where both Barnes & Maxey didn't score very efficiently, RJ should've closed some ground in the MIP race.

Was a good week last week, stinks no RJ tonight. At some point Leon is going to have to pull the band-aid, and make a big trade, feels like the draft is the deadline for something big, when they have their own pick and the Dallas pick.

Trae Young is such a clown. Looked like Neymar out there in the 4th quarter down the stretch. They gotta stop giving him that stuff. They came down on harden for his garbage, and they really need to do the same to Young

Fantastic comeback win tonight

The way they just took over after that timeout was really impressive. That's the kind of run that top teams go on to separate themselves from just good teams.

Brunson continued to struggle around the rim but luckily he's been on fire from 3 this season and we got a vintage Randle game...29-10-8 + a steal with just 1 TO on 12-24FG.

First win without RJ this season, bringing us to 1-3 w/o Barrett and 5-2 with him in the lineup.

Team looks mid, tonight was the start of 12 of 17 on the road, with a lot of tough opponents.

Shelf life on Thibs coming to an end it feels like soon.

I’ll miss IQ, shame it didn’t work out for RJ. I don’t follow enough hoops to know much of anything on what they got back, but OG has always been rumored coming here.

Still has all his first round picks at least.

I...don't get it?

This seems like a huge overpayment for a pending UFA, no?
RJs minutes will go to more efficient guys. Only one ball and he's not exactly a plus defender. What's his role on the team? To shoot 2 for 11 every 5 or 6 games and make those games really hard to win?

You can't pay IQ. Locking up the entirety of a 4th-9th seed seems pretty limiting.

Rj will do better as a top 2 option on offense with the Raptors. He wasn't ever going to be that here with Randle and Brunson.OG and Hart and their perimeter defense will be huge come playoff time

Glad to get rid of Barrett. I guess compared to some of 1st round turkeys the Knicks have drafted he’s not that bad but that’s not saying much.
Liked IQ but coach didn’t seem to.
I don’t know who our scouts are but I have no confidence in brain trust that picked Toppin over Haliburton are criminally dumb.

I have no clue what the upside of this trade is.
I've seen some say that it opens up money for Donovan Mitchell, which, I guess, but unless the Cavs take a package of all picks there's nothing left to give them of value otherwise.
